We were lucky (and grateful) to be invited to the Mike McCusker editing masterclass today at the Department of Post in Auckland.

Hosted by The Wrecking Crew producer Rob Cowan and organised by Jewels King, we watched the 2017 film Logan - edited by the Academy Award winning editor, Michael McCusker - and listened to how he tackles editing character driven films, collaborating with the likes of director James Mangold and navigating various inputs from writers, studios and directors.

Mike has been nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, for the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line (2005) and Ford v Ferrari (2019), for which he won the award. So, it was a wonderful opportunity to be present at this masterclass.

It's the start of postproduction for the Heal the Hauraki documentary series with these very talented ladies.

Though we do a lot of offline edits, we are also getting in several online (finishing) jobs.

The Sugarworks has space again soon for new projects - we have been busy - so hit us up if you have any post production requirements.

We finished a little edit and colour job for the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust to be played at the Haka World Record attempt at Eden Park on the 29th of September.

We were lucky enough to go and see the delightful film "Bookworm" in a pre-screening set up by WIFT NZ

Producers Emma Slade and Roxie Bull had a Q&A with Kate Rodger and the younger ones in the audience.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this Kiwi film 🤘😎

Go out and watch it - especially if you have younger kids.

We’re excited to share that Grassroots Club Rugby and Heartland Rugby programmes will air on NZR+, YouTube, Sky Sport, and TVNZ from late June 📺

Rugby is more than our national game. It’s a passion that brings us together as local communities, as a country and as a people. This is a story that needs to be told, and it’s best told from the grassroots by the volunteers, coaches, players and clubs of New Zealand.
