Finding my Ikigai - How I was living a lie until now!
have been living a lie for the last 8 years. I am so distant from myself that I am almost numb to the moments that Sagar and I have been dreaming of for years. Things that usually would have made me ecstatic, I am almost emotionless towards them but soon that’s gonna change.
Let me back you up a bit
One question that kept me awake most nights in my 20s was: WHAT IS MY PURPOSE? The journey, this question, takes you on is excruciatingly long and challenging but when you slowly put those pieces together, it is extremely satisfying. The answer gave me a clear idea as to what I wanted from my life. Since I was putting all my energy and time into being true to myself, I was thriving on challenges and had a sense of accomplishment on things I was embarking on.
BUT when I moved to New Zealand, things got changed drastically. I started losing myself in the day-to-day struggle. The distance grew as I set goals to achieve “necessary” milestones to have a comfortable life. While it gave me a sense of security for our future, my present was robotic and mundane. I found my days meaningless and questioned often the life I was living.
From the outside, if you peek into my life, it is perfect. Sagar and I found each other and we have created this amazing life together in New Zealand. We had decent jobs (um, dropping hints already 😉), a beautiful home and no major responsibilities but still, something was missing. My mind was chasing something that was not tangible but was always in a rush to connect with it!
The missing part was my identity, my purpose and who I was! It took me a while to accept the truth but I was living a lie by leading two lives FOR PAST 8 LONG YEARS!! If I told this to my younger self,I am pretty sure she would have freaked out 😄
BUT The best part is, it’s coming to an end.Sagar and I are embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure soon and we cannot wait to tell you all about it. I was
Tokyo stole our hearts on the very first day but these next few days are gonna be wild and I cannot wait to show you.
We have a jam-packed day today. When we were planning this trip, this was the day that I was the most excited about. Because today is the day, we are gonna try our first Ichiran Ramen and then we are also going to go to the Shibuya Crossing. After that, we are gonna to our very first Robot Cafe.

There’s something about travelling on your own! We can associate words like liberating, freedom, adventure or courage to it but I do not think it justifies it properly.

So I am not going to put that feeling into words. It is something you need to experience on your own and then let’s meet over a coffee ☕️so we can discuss all about it ❤️

Is this the right time to quit our jobs? Tr
Hi, we are Sagar and Ami. We have just launched this YouTube channel after watching heaps HOW TO channels and travel vlogs. We are passionate about travelling. Because of Covid-19 though, we are forced to enjoy our own backyard and thankfully it is this beautiful country, New Zealand. We will be sharing our New Zealand travel stories every other Saturday on this channel.
Our dream is to quit full-time jobs one day to explore the world. We cannot wait to travel full-time.
We are inspired by so many YouTubers but Kara and Nate, Eva Zu Beck, Kraig Adams, Mostly Sane are some of our favourites.
We are so excited to get connected with each and every one of you. Are you?
Find us on Youtube as Sagar and Ami and hit that subscribe button to see our travel vlogs every other Saturday :) :)
