😇Some glimpse of our Plantation Work Camp with 関西電力グループ (Kanden NGO Network). We are very happy to partner with 公益社団法人アジア協会アジア友の会 (Jafs Japan) to promote forest conservation in Nepal, especially in its rural areas like Bhotsipa Village. With the support of 11 volunteers from Kanden NGO Network we were able to plant 420 + trees of different varieties of local fruits and animal fodder.

☕️Besides that, we planted 75+ coffee plants whose yield will be used for income generation of farmers in Bhotsipa Village of Indrawati Rural Municipality. We are very thankful for being able to host Kanden NGO network and facilitate their philanthropic activities in Nepal.

We are deeply saddened by the demise of Mr. Tirtha Man Tandukar, the father is law of Mr. Om Krishna Tandukar. On the 13th day of his departure from earth we pray to god for the peace of the departed soul. Our entire AFS Nepal team would also like to express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family of the great loss.

🔊🚨 We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our first Phase of Speaker Installation Training for Disaster Prevention in Ward 9, Ward 10, and Ward 11 Indrawati Rural Municaplity Secondary schools 🚨🔊

An informative workshop conducted to disseminate life-saving information during emergencies.

In 2024, from April 29th to May 2nd, 2 Disaster Prevention Association members, 1 engineer, 1 electrician, and Schools representatives came together for an invaluable learning experience. Under the guidance of esteemed Japanese expert, Mr. Hatanaka, an Electronic Engineer, participants, learned the speaker and amplifier installation and its technical process with essential skills in setting up speakers for disaster alerts and communication.

A big thank you to all participants for your dedication and enthusiasm in learning disaster prevention equipment based skills.

🌟 Second Phase: Nutrition Feasibility Study🌟

JAFS with AFS Asian Friendship Society- carried out the feasibility study on finding out the nutrition status in people of all age in Indrawati Rural Municipality Ward 10.

On April 20th to April 22nd, we worked to gather crucial data to enhance the health and well-being of local people in the Bhotsipa Ward 10 community. Therefore, we're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the 2nd phase of our Nutrition Feasibility Study in collaboration with the Central Department Of Home Science, Shree Chandeswori Madhyamik Bidyalaya and Bhotsipa Health Post.

Through rigorous assessments and dedicated efforts, we're one step closer to understanding the nutritional landscape and crafting targeted interventions for a Bhotsipa, Indrawati Rural Municipality.

Disaster Prevention:The community center inauguration and handover ceremony in Indrawati Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok.

We were thrilled to witness the vibrant spirit of community coming together at the recent community center inauguration and handover ceremony in Sindhupalchok🏡

🇯🇵🇳🇵During the first year, under the Eco Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project, JAFS with implementing partner AFS, completed the construction of the community center . The community centre will be the center hub for the Indrawati Rural Municipality that aims to enhance disaster prevention capabilities in the Rural Municipality.

The main objective of setting up a community center is to unite for collective action, finding shared solutions for disaster prevention, and promoting overall community welfare through mutual assistance. This involves forming disaster prevention committees, organizing diverse activities, facilitating public broadcasting, warehouses, and implementing measures to prevent landslides.

🇯🇵🇳🇵Japan Asian Association and Asian friendship Society (JAFS) 公益社団法人アジア協会アジア友の会 with the support of the Japan Government Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Embassy of Japan in Nepal has handed over a Community Center for Disaster Prevention to Indrawati Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk District. The community center inauguration and handover ceremony was carried out in the presence of Honourable His Excellency Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Mr. Kikuta Yutaka, along with Mr. Katsuhiro Shinohara, JAFS President, and Mr. Watanabe Haruhiko, Mr. Tadashi Matsubara, Board of Directors JAFS and local representatives from the Indrawati Rural Municipality.

Together with the participation of local peoples, fostering partnerships to empower local initiatives, we celebrated the successful opening and handover ceremony, marking a new chapter in Sindhupalchok's journey towards prosperity and resilience. 🎉

🇯🇵🇳🇵AFS Nepal Family recently with JAFS Nepal office Staff visited Khalanga Village of Jajarkot District. We were deeply saddened by the 5.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred on November 3 that took away a lot of lives in Nepal

AFS Nepal family with the help of JAFS and Montbell was able to donate some need based relief items to the earthquake victims. AFS Nepal donated Sanitary Napkins, Hand Sanitizer, Hand Soap, Laundry Soap, Detergent Powder, Buckets and Mugs for the victims. We were able to do so with the help of Nepal Red Cross Society, Jajarkot. Our team was lucky enough to meet Ms Sita Jaisi, Deputy Mayor of Bheri Municipality.

🇯🇵🇳🇵AFS Nepal Family would like to thank all the Winners, Race Finishers and Participants at the Osaka Marathon 2024. All the participants showed immense strength and dedication for the success of 42.195 km marathon held for charity to support projects all around Asia. 🇯🇵🇳🇵

Each steps taken by runners during the marathon was meaningful as they dedicated their sweat and effort in raising money. Despite the rainfall during the marathon, runners were very enthusiastic. We feel very great to have such wonderful supporters. 😇

🇳🇵 AFS Nepal in collaboration with 🇯🇵 JAFS 公益社団法人アジア協会アジア友の会 has recently conducted an 🪴 environment awareness project in Indrawati, Bhotsipa. 🙏We want to thank The Resona Foundation (公益財団法人りそなアジア・オセアニア財団 ) for making this possible by supporting our donor JAFS Japan. We hope to see many positive changes in the environment of Indrawati Rural Municipality. 😇

In the environment awareness campaign, we directly discussed the challenges faced by the local residents in managing solid waste. Upon discussion, we were able to provide various solutions to manage such wastages with locally available tools and infrastructures like the dustbins Built by JAFS with the help of The Resona Foundation (公益財団法人りそなアジア・オセアニア財団公益財団法人りそなアジア・オセアニア財団 ).

The art works were displayed at JAFS' Charity Art Exhibition in Osaka Japan where the visitors independently selected the top three art creations of school children from Grade 8 of different schools around NEPAL.😄

🎌JAFS Nepal signed a MOU with Indrawati Rural Municipality to support Indrawati Rural Municipality Ward - 3 for the construction of Drinking Water Lifting Facility.💧

🇳🇵The signing ceremony was held in Nawalpur, Indrawati’s headquarter in the presence of our honourable Country Director Ms Noriko Atsuta Malla along side Mr Jhamka Nepal; Mayor of Indrawati Rural Municipaity, Mr Sashinath Acharya; Rural Municipality Spokesperson, Mr Bhimsen Thapa; Ward Chairperson Indrawati Rural Municipality Ward - 3, and other distinguished guests.

🤝We feel very honoured to be able support Indrawati in building sustainable drinking water infrastructure. We hope this MOU will help all the residents of Indrawati Rural Municipality Ward - 3 in accessing clean and safe drinking water for better human life.

"Building Resilience Together for Disaster Risk Management: Mr. Amano San spearheaded a comprehensive disaster management training in 12 wards of Indrawati Rural Municipality from Dec 1-6.
