The United States has formally ended its 20-year military presence in Afghanistan. The two-decade-long war ended with the return of the last batch of US troops from Afghanistan on Monday.
The commander of the US Central Command, General Frank McKenzie, said on Monday that the last batch of US troops had returned from Kabul. "I am here to announce the end of our repatriation campaign from Afghanistan and the military rescue of third countries, including the United States, and Afghan civilians at risk from Afghanistan," he told reporters.

The death toll from Thursday's attack at Kabul airport has risen to 90, a public health official told the BBC.

The number of injured has exceeded 150.

At least 28 Taliban members were among the dead Afghans, a Taliban official said.

A senior military official says US commanders are preparing for a further offensive in Afghanistan.

Islamic State could launch further attacks at Kabul airport using potential rockets or vehicles, said US Central Command General Frank McKenzie.

Good news‼️Nepal’s🇳🇵 export of electricity💡 has exceeded the import amount in the past two days, which has given some respite to the country from energy trade.

According to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the country exported 56 MW of electricity to India on Monday while the imports stood at 23 MW. On Tuesday, Nepal exported 50 MW of electricity while it imported 33 MW.

After the 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project started full-fledged production, Nepal has been able to stand at surplus in energy trading, probably for the first time in the past two decades. Earlier, Nepal witnessed energy surplus when 144 MW Kali Gandaki ‘A’ Hydroelectric Project started production.

Currently, the country’s demand for electricity is 1,438 MW. NEA has been supplying 440 MW of electricity from its projects and 457 MW from its subsidiary companies. Likewise, the private sector companies have been supplying 508 MW of electricity.

The Taliban have barred 140 Hindus and Sikhs from leaving Kabul. A special Indian Air Force plane was stopped by Tabilan at Kabul airport.

The Taliban detained 140 Afghan Sikhs, Hindus and others at Kabul airport, according to Puneet Singh, chairman of the India World Forum, according to The Hindu.

Puneet Singh is coordinating the evacuation of people in Kabul between the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Air Force.

The flight of the Indian Air Force was delayed after the Taliban stopped it. The Taliban escorted them out of Kabul airport on Wednesday night.

The Taliban has said it does not want Afghans to leave the country.

An explosion💣 rattled an area outside Hamid Karzai International Airport✈️ in Kabu🇦🇫l on Thursday, the Pentagon confirmed, just hours after Western governments had warned of a security threat there.

Since the Taliban takeover of the city earlier this month, thousands of Afghan civilians and foreign citizens have gathered at the airport, which has a military and civilian side, desperate to be airlifted out of the country.

A U.S. 🇺🇲military official confirmed that at least one explosion had occurred at the Abbey Gate, a main entryway to the international airport. Early reports indicated that the explosion was caused by at least one su***de bomber wearing an explosive vest. It was unclear how many people were injured or whether anyone was killed, but large crowds have been gathering at the gate in recent days.
