The song is a collaboration with pioneering Brazilian medicine musician Chandra Lacombe, another artist dedicated to the healing power of sound and the impact of music upon life. Native Festival ✨ São Paulo, Brasil ✨ July 6th & 7th 2024 For the very first time we will be taking Nixi Music energy abroad to co-produce @native_festival in Brasil! Born of a dream of sharing medicine music out in the nature from which it comes, the idea for Native rapidly grew in the last two months to cover a full two day, multi-artist festival! We did not expect the incredible interest in the project to expand at this pace, but now with a wonderful piece of land in São Paulo secured we can’t wait to invite many special musicians, wisdom keepers and indigenous teachers to share their magic next weekend. You will find musicians such as our own astral_flowers, @aalexiaevellyn, @doissois, @advanhx, @lealcarvalhoficial and many more, plus members of the Huni Kuin, Varinawa, Tupinamba, Fulniô, Guarani, Yawanawa tribes among others. The festival will offer the opportunity for the celebration of life and expansion of knowledge all in one weekend. Between cultural workshops and talks, children’s activities, films, the sacred fire and the musical stages there is something for everyone to enjoy and take from this time together. We are so excited to share Native Festival with you and hope as many people as possible can experience the lovingly curated programme. ❤️🍃

Featuring his daughter Matilde and lovingly produced by our own Txai Fernando the song marks a poignant first offering from his upcoming album, ‘Surrender’. “The lyrics came through me within a split second. It was pure channeling. This song is for everybody but I was especially thinking of my children and grandchildren when writing it. My wish is that they live their life authentically, being true to their hearts, and always live their dreams, not giving away their sovereignty. That they claim and own their right to freedom. The best way to show my wish for the children, is to live that, and to be the inspiration. I’m proud and happy, having my daughter singing with me on this song. The message in the lyrics is powerful, and you will learn a lot about me from listening to this song,” he says. “My intuition is my best friend” he sings, and “We are the carriers of divine light”. “We all carry the light. 'The Calling' is the title track from 2023’s incredible debut album from The Flowers of the Forest. Norwegian duo Sigmund Vatvedt & Rutti Atitasha's lyrics speak of the heart and soul's longing to be free. In the core of the music is a deep spiritual calling which comes to life through the melodies, harmonies and sounds. The album has many guest artists who play a crucial role in its creation, including Brazilian kalimba master, singer and musician Chandra Lacombe. Throat singer and master musician Radik Tyulyush from Southern Siberia, who is a member of the music group Huun Huur Tu that inspired the song Steppe. Kailash Kokopelli, an old friend and musical inspiration to the duo, recognized as a cross-cultural bridge-maker, medicine person and humanitarian artist working with indigenous people around the planet. Ixa Huni Kuin, a shaman from the Huni Kuin tribe in Amazon Brazil, that both Sigmund and Rutt have worked with and traveled the world with for several years. He taught Sigmund the traditional healing chants of the Huni Kuin and contributes with one of those chants in the Prayer Song. Nawapana is also from the Huni Kuin tribe in the Amazon, Brazil and a dear friend, he shared a closing prayer in Prayer Song. Speaking with Mayan elders, the film dives deep into indigenous wisdom to reveal a healing narrative for our planet, from those who care for it profoundly. Proceeds from the film will contribute to helping the Noke Kuin people buy back their land that has suffered at the hands of the mining industry. A snapshot into a super special gathering in Oslo last weekend, a conscious rave with OMG Events. Our co-founders Nils Olav Strand Lausund & Txai Fernando joined forces for the Nixi Music Soundsystem, with Nils holding down the decks and Txai Fernando adding in his outstanding live multi-instrumental skills. With Nils’ background in the electronic music world, it feels entirely organic that we cross between the medicine world and the dancefloor. From Nils - “Since discovering medicine music and starting Nixi, I have really got my true inspiration for music and also DJing back. I honestly have the same excitement now as when I was a teenager getting into DJing, the combination of the two styles of music has opened a whole new creative world for me.” We would love to perform more of these shows this year.
