"Blessing/Curse" by is an 11-track tour de force that spans a dynamic range of musical styles, from snappy political punk anthems like "New Job Debbie" and "Bigger Picture" to soaring psych-rock guitar blasts in "Sometimes" and "Outta My Mind." The album represents the culmination of Sleepy Kitty's journey, overcoming challenges and emerging with a renewed sense of joy and creativity. Often, Blessing/Curse sounds like Pavement fronted by Cate LeBon, with Lou Reed-esque songwriting sensibility… plus a massive dose of vocalist/guitarist Paige Brubeck’s uniquely charming je ne sais quoi!

And, of course, if you love physical albums like we do, the limited edition vinyl and CDs are available from our Bandcamp plus select physical locations — like Vintage Vinyl - St. Louis and Euclid Records StL, for instance!

It took us a long time to get to this point, and we're extremely grateful to everyone who helped make this record happen — and everyone everywhere who has kept their ears out for new Sleepy Kitty music. These songs cover some hard times and some of the best times, and we're very proud of the final product. We can't wait for you to hear what we've been up to all this time.

Special thanks due to Nordic Records, we've loved working together and cheers from here to Oslo!

Harmonious work and identity: Synne Sanden explores her soul and allows us all to cultivate and keep in our memories the precious gems of her, the result of musical explorations and passion.
These are the considerations that arise when listening to Synne Sanden's new work, "Unfold", composed of ten new songs and which follows the previous and beautiful "Imitation" of 2019.
The Norwegian artist stands with mastery and ease in the composition and places the plasticity of the use of the voice at the center of her art. Her singing expresses sweetness, pain and finally pathos which culminates in luminous openings towards intimate reflections. The album “Unfold“, released on February 17th 2023 for “Nordic Records“, confirms the skills of Synne Sanden and her group. The result is unique.”

This multi-genre, stadium-sized anthem is simply awesome. The rumbling fury of FIDLAR, the art-rock theatrics of a young Bloc Party, and the garage-rock explosiveness of Royal Blood are combined into a fiery and roaring concoction. There are moments where we want to thrash our heads before shifting into a chaotic mosh or uncontrollable dancing. While the track goes in numerous directions, it is held together by the post-punk mentality that emanates from Peter’s intense vocal and lyrics. His voice pierces through the noise, describing how he battles every day with his mental health. While others try to control him, he’s found four people who understand him and share his desire to create music that will have people utter, “F**k yeah!” (Yes, we went there because this song has earned it.)

A cacophony of sound, images, experiences, and even destinations are revealed on The Matinee '23 v. 019. Today's mini-playlist commences on a more ominous tone before the energy and intensity pick up before heading into trippy dimensions. In others words, these tunes are quite the adventure.
