PREMIERE DAY! Our new sci fi series Kuppel 16 (Dome 16) is out! Norwegians can watch the first three episodes right now on NRK TV at the link below. We are super proud and happy to finally see our series reach its audience after more than three years of work.
Kuppel 16 was created, written and co-directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and co-directed by DoP Daniel Voldheim. It stars Johannes Blumenthal and Flo Fagerli and a whole host of remarkable actors of all ages. The series was produced by Ingunn Sundelin and Eric Vogel with support from the whole team here at Tordenfilm.
More than two hundred dedicated artists, actors and craftspeople in Norway and the Netherlands have contributed their talents to Kuppel 16, and we can't thank you all enough. Creating a vision of the future from the ground up has been a unique and challenging task that you have all taken on with immense dedication. The best production crew and cast, the best post production crew!
And not least, we’ve had the best partners to make it all happen. The series was commissioned by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), and co-produced by Big Blue Productions (NL), Storyline Studios and Oslo Filmfond as. International distribution is handled by Global Screen.
Financing came from all of the above as well as a whole range of other sources: Norsk filminstitutt, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme, Fond for lyd og bilde, Filmparken as, The Netherlands Film Production Incentive, NPO/Zapp, SVT, DR, YLE and RUV.

And thank you to our location providers, our extras and all the other local resources a production like this needs. We are proud to be an international co-production that didn't need to travel at all, filming everything in Oslo and surrounding areas in Østfold and in the Filmparken studios at Jar.
And what we couldn't find locally, we built digitally. Through co-producing with Big Blue Productions we got to work with the top notch Dutch VFX community (Planet X, Luuk Meijer and David van Heeswijk), who worked alongside our lead post production and VFX vendor Storyline Studios as well as Stardust Effects, both of whom have offices a stone's throw from Tordenfilm.
As we premiere today in Norway, the final few episodes are still being worked on. But you can find them all soon enough on NRK TV, and internationally in 2023. See you soon!
