After another day of exploring 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️, we got some food at a local italian restaurant 🍝. This restaurant opened in 1993 and they wanted to bring authentic italian food to Copenhagen… 1. THEY WERE SO KIND to us!!! 2… you knew they were 100% italians because they spoke to use like this 👨‍🍳🤌🏻 hehe 🤭 and 3…. Wow the food?!!!! If this is what Italy tastes like. Book me a flight tomorrow !!!! 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 .
I had to include some art pieces of the gallery we went to today 🎨🖼️. Im not a huge museum person , but the National Gallery of Denmark (which by the way … comprising approximately 260,000 works of art) had a Baroque Exhibition and that is my favorite era of art so I was over the moon with experiencing such fine art up close and read the stories behind them!!!

THE STORY BEHIND THE MAKEUP AND HAIR! 🩵🫧🛼🧚🏻‍♀️ this was NOT AT ALL the look I had planned for the festival. i actually practiced a few looks and wanted to do eye dotting which consisted out of a thousand little dots with blue, white and dark blue liners.

I woke up late the morning of the festival and i had barely slept the night before . I washed my hair the prev night and i was this close 🤏🏻 to just wearing some foundation and mascara and put my hair in a bun. But after some back and forth i was like okay! I have an hour! Let me just try and whip up something.

I scrolled instagram and saw a hair video whoch helped with inspiration for the sleek top with braids and pony, however i decided in the moment to curl my hair upwards and flick it out.

You guys wont believe me but this eye makeup was the QUICKEST makeup I have ever done (of this type of level) i just blended 2 different shade of blue with a big blending brush, tapped glitter all over the lid to my brow, slapped on a wing and lashes and stuck a few diamantes on and even I WAS SURPRISED that it turned out that good!!!! 🫣🫠 the funniest thing is always when I dont care and just put on makeup quickly, i will come up with the most amazing creative looks that are so simple to do, but when i plan a look and have so much pressure of getting it perfect i feel like I always mess it up or struggle for over an hour to get it to look the way I want…
Haha anyways thought I’d share !!! I am still down for creating a tutorial for those of you who wanna learn how to do this look too because i promise you its soooo easy!!? 🩵🛼🫧🧚🏻‍♀️

What a weekend🥲🥲 . Kev’s cousin and his wife came to visit us from the UK 🇬🇧 (They have also been living there for about 2,5 y now) and we of course fed them lots of food and snacks. We all went on a boat trip in Amsterdam with Kev’s sister and brother as well and we indulged in a lot of good food and drinks this weekend. It was so wholesome and much needed especially after the past 2 weeks i have had. 🩵🎀🩵🎀🩵 it was like recharging the heart again so we can go for a bit 😊😊😊😊💛💛💛

👩🏼Bullet point life update 👩🏼
🤎 I went through about 2 weeks of feeling homesick. Easter is never fun and its the period where we lost Ivan as well so things just sucked, & been feelin kinda sad 😞
🤎 I started using Creatine in March.. and it’s insane the difference I am noticing in the gym, i want to talk more about it since people are so scared of it. But its actually a miracle supplement 💪🏼
🤎 I am at a place where I have to think about myself… and sometimes it’s also better just to say “ok” and move on to protect your peace.🕊️✌🏻
🤎 This week it’s getting warmer and it’s lovely. We want to spend more time at the beach this year. ⛱️👙
🤎 We are going to the famous shopping street in Dusseldorf Germany end of the month, and meeting new friends. Im excited.🛍️🛍️
🤎 I love that I have overcome binge eating and I can enjoy food without feeling guilty about it.🍔
🤎 I havn’t been sleeping well at all lately. We have some insane spiders on the farm & I have some other things keeping me awake at night but I try my best to deal with it.😴🥱
🤎 PS back to gym… im currently in a bulking phase (it’s my first time doing a bulk so im excited to see what my body can do) I am then going to do a cut trim down the body% fat and reveal a stronger and defined physique. Dont ask me how and what because Im just going with the flow and I am learning all of this as I go along.🏋🏼‍♀️
🤎 which brings me to my last point. I love living outside of my comfort zone. For me discomfort has brought out the best of me because it pushes me to fail, learn, try again and then succeed. Its a valuable thing in life we shouldn’t fear failure or try and avoid it… 📉😔📈🎉

🤳📸 Dump catchup:
1. .wijn and I went shopping in Amsterdam Centraal while the boys went for a beer 🍺. This was outside with my new sunnies nats help me pick out. And I also got some goodies at
2. Im obsessed with TKmaxx ! I wanted to buy every handbag i saw. Did i mention we spent 4 hours in there?!!!
3. Trying on new shoes for work but Natz said no, because im gonna break my ankles with those things!
4. Eating pasta de natas outside of Lidl… before we went our ways in the morning
5. Me and Nats enjoying the golden hour while waiting at the tram station to go meet up with the boys.
6. Had sundowner drinks in the City with some snacks… it was very full and we loved the holiday vibe it was giving off.
7. Love spending time with you ❤️‍🔥
8. Got home and ate all the snacks Nats bought at lidl. I got us some french champagne and we danced to a playlist with music from the 2000-2010.

I often get asked: “How can you eat Pizza or Burgers and still stick to your diet and workout plan” … my answer is always simple… “I do it without feeling guilty about it.” 🥹🤎

For me personally I have learned that restrictions and strict diets causes more harm than good for me ❌🙅‍♀️. Don’t get me wrong… i have been in the best shape of my life before because of it and I understand a lot of people still choose to follow it including athletes. But for me I was stuck in a circle going from extreme dieting and exercise to the exact opposite 😢… falling into binging and bad eating habits of only stuffing myself full of the things I usually “cannot have”. And also feeling the saddest I’ve ever felt even though i had this “great body” i worked so hard for. Was it really worth it???

Last year I worked with a coach () and I overcame my binge eating and learned to find a balance… i know i know… everyone is always like “find a balance” ⚖️ but how right? Well i started by doing small things like eating wholewheat pasta 🍝 , changing my dairy for Almond milk 🥛, getting in a min of 7000 steps a day 👟 Trying to at least go to gym 3x a week 🏋️‍♀️, and gradually started building healthier habits every month (while still enjoying takeaways which i love!)

Today I still do most of those. Im not in the gym x5 a week. Max 4. Sometimes only 3. I only weight-lift now. With a little bit of rope jump because i really don’t like cardio ( 🏃‍♀️running or walking for ages). I try to meal prep when I have the chance 👩‍🍳… to cook healthIER food… but you know what? I have a chocolate easter egg 🥚 almost every day , and I eat a pizza 🍕 or burger 🍔 every week. Sometimes even both 🤠🐴, but this is what I call balance … for ME ✔️ and for you it might be something different. I dont have abs. But i dont care because Im happy 😊 and healthy 🥹

Im not saying diets are bad… im just saying that for me … i was happier not being on it. So gooorrrll 😮‍💨😮‍💨 eat that second burger, or polish that whole pizza. You only have 1 life to live and everything tastes better when you don’t allow yourself to feel guilty about eating it 🤎🤎🤎

💖 Happy Friday! I hope you guys have one amazing weekend! 💖 Kev is working tomorrow so I can spend some extra time in the books 📚 We are counting down the days till Spring. It’s so close and this year i want to spend as much time as possible at the beach 🏖️ hehe . 🤭 I skipped gym this week , I needed to just get used to the traveling to work and back 🚂 but I think I am sooo ready for it again next week and so funny how I missed it . Work has been great and I feel like I am fitting in quite nicely 😁 🤎🤎🤎🤎 I am now waiting for 5pm so I can pop my birthday bubbles 🍾 and start enjoying the weekend.

Kyk waar sit ons vandag, kyk wat het God gedoen vir ons vandag. Dit is omdat jou groot droom nie net ñ droom was nie maar n gebed wat jy in God se hande gelê het.
Ek weet jy sê altyd jy wil ñ beter man van God wees, jy wil graag meer kerk toe gaan, en jy wil net God beter leer ken. Ek d**k daai honger wat jy het vir Jesus maak my meer lief vir jou. Van al die dinge wat ñ man kan doen is dit die mees aantreklikste.
Jy word elke jaar net mooier vir my, jou hart vir mense is aansteeklik . Jou grappies laat ander altyd lag asof hulle dit nodig het soos medisyne wat mens beter laat voel, en jou drukkies wat jy gee as ek hartseer is, laat my vergeet hoe pyn voel.

🌹 Going into 2023. Yes I love the idea of a clean fresh start, but don’t fall trap to strict diets consisting out of minimal food and every day gym sessions. Find a medium that is good for you to work with and find happiness and contentment in all of it 🫶🏻 I uploaded a whole Youtube video explaining everything I did and used and also opening up about my binge eating which I had to overcome . A Godly one does!!! ✅ .
This morning while spending time with God 🙏🏼, encouraged by Kevin… I couldn’t help but thank God for my not perfect marriage 💍 and my not perfect husband 🤵🏼, because I know I’m not even the picture perfect wife 👰🏼. But that is what Grace is for 🕊️ it meets us at our most imperfect places and carries us through situations and circumstances we won’t be capable of managing ourselves. 🤝🏻

🤔💭I realized again how God gives us second chances basically every day. As a spouse you have to also ask and give a million second chances without hesitation ✔️✔️✔️ . What I love about our imperfections is that God is showing us where and how we can grow 📈, be more humble 🙇🏼‍♀️, be more sensitive 🌸, be more open 👐🏻 and in doing so we grow together and help shape each other into the destiny God has set for us. (jer 29:11)📖

🙏🏼I am especially grateful for a God fearing husband today. I have been feeling quite challenged and demotivated and the first thing Kev said was 🗣️”Kom ons maak dit ñ saak van gebed.” In my weakest moments when I forget to seek God, Kev reminds me that it is the first place I should seek comfort and guidance, because our imperfect ways teach us how much we actually should rely on God for growth. 🔅

I think that is the nice thing about marriage 👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼. When one is weak🧎🏼‍♀️, the other can be strong for them 🏃🏼. And when both of us are weak 🧎🏼‍♀️🧎🏼, God’s Grace makes up for it to carry us through 🫴🏼.

Grateful for the amazing almost 4 weeks holiday we could spend with Family and friends with the beautiful scenery in our home country South Africa 🇿🇦. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Now it’s back to work, so we can do it all over again soon. 🙌🏻
This was by far the best holiday I have ever had. And I feel so blessed to have been able to be away for such a long time and spending quality time with the people we love and each other 🥹🫶🏻.
Next on the list: Germany 🇩🇪 Christmas Markets and then for our Birthdays we want to experience France 🇫🇷 a bit.

Amsterdam looks good on me, or I look good on Amsterdam. 🤷🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️.
Funny story. I told kev we need to take a picture kissing on the bridge so we can say we kissed on a bridge in Amsterdam. A while after taking the photo we realized we were actually in the Red Light District. So not so romantic because a lot more happens there than kissing on a bridge 🤣 . We didn’t see naked women, they all had clothes on, like swimwear or lingerie that covers everything. it’s really not as bad as everyone says. but saw a lot of s*x toys everywhere and Kev said “hier is silicone voële orals” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 anyways we were both glad to walk out of it with a souvenir we bought at the ### store 🤣 again. By accident. We saw the beanies outside and wanted to buy it. When we went in to pay for it we realized this store had way more than Amsterdam beanies 🤣🤣🤣 . At least we can now say we saw one of the 7 wonders of the world 🤣🤣🤣 and gladly declined all the generous offers.
Even though a part of Amsterdam reeks of w**d, coffee shops and space cakes, s*x toys and workers … there is also a part which is so rich in culture, family life, history and beauty. We loved the tall historic buildings, the massive canals, the “gees” of the people, the Palace and we probably only saw 10% of what Amsterdam has to offer.
Can’t wait to go back and explore more and maybe try another bridge to kiss on. 😋
