Need to get that tin proper on the Litz..
Friend had problems with his P2 . Hum and only one channel of audio. I tried switching the stereo RCA, used another diamond stylus and finally resorted to getting complete rewire kit. It wasn't cheap!!

By the time I was done and invested, he said I can keep it!! 😍 Thanks !! His new REGA6 comes with separate PSU for fine electronic speed control. Much more stable system they say.

After all this, I can officially say I can service REGA turntables. Sometimes the literal 'audio engineering' really gets the nerd out in me. With lots of patience and old knowledge, one can learn to understand how this medium works. It is truly not complicated compared to today's digital media players!

But would I say music listening from vinyl is better than digital source this days? Now thats a chapter we can discuss another day. For now, if you like the music, just enjoy it however way you can get it.

But if you're in the industry this day and age.. and looking to make money from producing music. The manner on how you 'distribute it', in lack of other words, can be daunting. The word should be music sales before distribution. The algorithm within streaming services have been notorious to not work for new musicians lately. If you don't get 1000 streams a month, don't bother to check your monthly paycheck. In retrospect, to overcome this, physical media is making a comeback. To survive and keep the art of music or music production alive, more of us are putting our bet on physical medium or live performances (or even merchandising if you've grown have a fan base).

Why and how did I drift to this subject?? Because with the easiness of access to music this days, and with the rapid development of AI in creative art forms, it is important that we know what's truly happening to the ones that actually spend time to make this art in it's true-est peer-to-peer form.

Payments direct to source is the best way to keep the art flowing and appreciated. Buy physical music. Or get it direct from source. Like the artist? Buy them coffee via Patreon or send them that compliment.

Music - how we consume - needs fixing.

The first time I hear Loire Cotler belch out the banshee cry in Gob Jabbar, I can't help but hear the harmonica tension done in L'homme à l'Harmonica. Spirit of Charles Bronson in steamy scorching sun, silverscreen turned 4:3 and Ennio Moriconne flew around the room..
Then slowly this spaghetti western scene fades out and I'm brought back into the stretched sandstorm with Lisan al Gaib. Can't help but wonder if Hans Zimmer or Loire was referencing that hypnotizing melody to honor Morricone?

New year. New neck with Schaller locking tuners for the Fat Strat. 🎸 Been having too much use of VST instruments in 2023 for work compositions. No problem with that really, but most often my scratch tracks and ideas actually blooms from fiddling the guitars. Plus it feels SO good to heat the tube amps again. It even warms the room up in winter! 😊

What a full(filling) length feature that was Killers of The Flower Moon. 😝 Long ass story telling based on the non-fiction book by David Grann (2017). Still very relatable to what's happening in some parts of the world today. Oh yes.. The birth of America and the FBI actually. Don't know if it's everybody's cup of tea to swallow. At 3:13:35 is the Easter Egg from Martin Scorsese and Leo DiCaprio I thought was worth the wait/watch. For us sound designers at least. Bravo!!

Most invaluable asset right now is Sphere mic + plugin setup. Sessions recorded earlier in the year can still be tweaked today with mics from Bill Putnam or Ocean Way collection. The familiar studio sound now possible and affordable. So impressed with the L22- we got ourselves another DLX mic.

Not even done with the build in rastAsia studio (Netherlands) but we're already cranking with 1st few animation projects. Mostly comprising music compositions, plenty of SFX, foley with the MKH416 on the side (in dead cat)... And then flying into Singapore for plenty of VO recordings using Universal Audio Apollo + and Sphere DLX. The 1st week here have been a blast of fun and sunshine! Blessed to be working with some of Singapore's best talents to give life to the characters!
