Today marks a historic and momentous occasion in the Netherlands. As a representative of the Nigeria Embassy and the Public Relations Officer, it is with immense pride and joy that I, along with all executive members of the UNP.NL, have had the honor of witnessing the signing of the documents to return the artifacts that were stolen from our great Benin Kingdom many years ago.

As a princess from the royal family of the Benin Kingdom, I am deeply moved and overwhelmed with emotion on this extraordinary day. This event symbolizes not only the restitution of our cherished cultural heritage but also the acknowledgment and correction of a historical wrong. The return of these artifacts signifies a profound gesture of respect and reconciliation.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Netherlands government for taking this bold and courageous step. This act of goodwill is not only a testament to the strength of our bilateral relations but also a powerful demonstration of the commitment to justice and cultural preservation. It is not an easy feat, and I commend the Dutch government for their unwavering dedication to righting this historical wrong.

Today, we celebrate the return of our treasured artifacts to the Benin Kingdom, and I am filled with pride and admiration for the Dutch government.
