On the new album Port'Inglês", Carmen Souza brings together musical stories about the special culture of the Cape Verde islands and their inhabitants. With jazz as language and expression and traditional rhythms such as funana, contradança, morna and mazurka. Of course with her musical partner Theo Pascal. is Carmen Souza. It is sometimes said that her voice represents the entire continent of Africa. And I think that is right. Miriam Makeba. Here she is with music from her latest Studio Album Reflections. the first album - written in Bambara and French - Manu Sissoko wants to open the doors to the world she's been exploring since she was a teenager, in the light of 2 countries dear to her heart, France and Mali. J. Plunky Branch leads the way in Afro-centric jazz, funk, house music and go-go, weaving these interconnected musical forms into a forward-looking message of empowerment, positivity and cultural awareness.
