Hoe het verhaal over Fashion Clash vertellen? Zal ik het ‘aanvliegen’ vanuit de verschillende invalshoeken, theaterdisciplines en maatschappelijke onderwerpen? Ofwel benaderen vanuit eigenheid, liefde voor mode, kwaliteit om te doen, mode voor een dialoog. Hoewel het woord Clash een andere suggestie wekt, heb ik vooral aandacht en persoonlijke ontmoetingen ervaren bij het festival.

Today it’s the Day of the Volunteer (Dag van de Vrijwilliger) - Netherlands national day of the volunteers.💕

We would like to thank our volunteers as without them the festival would not be the same. As a community driven organization, FASHIONCLASH can only coexist with support of its community. Many of the volunteers have been there since the beginning. Each festival edition they play a pivotal role to make the festival as smooth as possible and are the faces behind the scenes or front of the scenes welcoming guests.

🔵 WE STAND TOGETHER IN POWER 🔵

The FASHIONCLASH Festival 2025 Afterparty transformed Dans-en partycentrum Bernaards into an interdisciplinary playground of community, expression, and togetherness on Saturday, November 15.

More than just a celebration, this year's afterparty was a co-creative platform where music, fashion, performance, and visual art collided. In collaboration with Yorvique Macaay, Neele Kamerbeek, Laisy de Andrade, and designer Jessie Romkens, we created an unforgettable night united in blue. 💙

The energy was electric: ✨ Pole dancing by Bente Kruger ✨ Rap performance by Jesse Snel
✨ Performances born from our pre-event workshops in fashion-making, movement, and voice ✨ A community dressed head-to-toe in blue, standing together in power

From the workshop studio to the dance floor, this was co-creation in action — proof that fashion, art, and community are strongest when built together.

In conclusion, the 17th iteration of the FASHIONCLASH Festival was not just an exhibition of fashion; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and cultural exchange. Its multifaceted programming and dedication to showcasing emerging talent were commendable, making it a significant event in the fashion calendar. Yet the oversight of the Dutch government in oppressing such a unique, empowering event is a disservice to the arts and culture sector. As we look forward to the next edition, we hope for greater support, recognition, and investment in the initiatives that champion creativity, community, and culture.
