The Amsterdam-based music platform & community Steppin’ Into Tomorrow returns to Maxi Radio for a full day take-over. The collective consists of DJs, producers, musicians, photographers, videographers, writers and all around music heads.

About 3 years ago they came by the original studio and took us on a wonderful journey through soulful sounds, let’s see where they will take it this time!

Convenient store tiles reflecting the sound of speakers in corners playing slow classical music. Reworked recordings stuck on repeat like distant, distorted memories. The calm algorithms were thinking; they might start licking your ears.

Siphonophora (Live)

Siphonophora is Nikos ten Hoedt and Nick Mansveld who started making music together when they lived in the same house. They share a great interest in percussive, polyrhythmic music mixed with enough low end and ambient sounds that make up for an introspective but danceable live set. Videotape Dance Therapy

Oscar Van Leest is an audiovisual artist, DJ and sound designer based in Arnhem. He is also the co-founder of Syntax collective. Through his Videotape Dance Therapy project Oscar explores evolving rhythms and textures through live performance using hardware and code. Enjoy! Lo Phi Forms Records w/ Klankman

Under his Klankman moniker, Maarten Epskamp brings his own twisted take on techno with a lavish amount of acid. Displaying a free-form DIY approach of rhythmic electronic music with an intuitive compositional approach. The result might sometimes be experimental and certainly be intriguing, but the dancefloor is never far away. This time it will be an improvised hardware set with a more introspective character. Lo Phi Forms Records w/ Canvax

A balancing act between diverse genres, bound together by a distinctive, emotive and rough edged sound. That is what Danny Jeroense a.k.a. Canvax creates in his small homestudio in Deventer. Today he treats us with a live set of genrebending dark and unpolished electronic music, including tracks of Lo Phi Forms Records' latest release, the Koortsdroom EP.

Maxi Radio International Womxn's Day Special

For the first talk of the day Anna Patricia Lendle sits down with Andrea to talk a bit about womxn in the music industry. Anna helped organise Cape Town Electronic Music Festival and managed a cultural exchange project, laying foundations for collaboration between artists.
