THE FAR SITE

Alongside the book edition, we released a print edition of The Far Site featuring a gelatin silver print made from a black and white photograph of legendary “Paninaro” yard in Rome.

The whole printing process was carried out brilliantly by darkroom printer Matteo Alessandri from .works. This refined print captures the timeless essence of traditional film photography. The meticulous process of exposing, developing and fixing the image ensures each print embodies a unique, enduring quality.

The print set comes in an edition of 30 + 5 AP’s and is available at .publishing

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

In October, we are hosting an artist in residence with New Zealand-based artist Ed Bats. During this one-week collaboration, we will work together on several projects and will release a fine-art print as part of the outcome.

, who began as a graffiti artist, combines hard-edged abstraction with minimalism, creating works that push the boundaries of form and composition. His art, characterized by meticulous layering and reworking, often incorporates second-hand furniture and household items. This approach results in pieces that blur the lines between painting, sculpture, and installation, showcasing his deep love for design and craftsmanship.

SWET - BOOK RELEASE

In recent years, we have published a number of yearbooks in collaboration with graffiti artist Swet. This fourth book in the series contains a selection of more than 300 painted walls and trains, swinging sketches and some personal stories of artists he has worked with during the year 2020.

Swet’s approach on graffiti is always from the original mindset of the culture. From his perspective graffiti belongs in the streets and on the trains. Also after “normal” life get in his way in so many ways he still manage to paint without changing his perspective. Filling surfaces with funky letters, fresh connections and a crazy swing are only possible for writers who can achieve the same energetic performance and quick powerful ex*****on.

The hand-bound hardcover book is 24,0 x 28,5 cm (9,45” x 11,22”), contains 244 pages and is made in an edition of 250. The inner pages are digitally printed on 150 grams Rebello paper and all covers are printed with a proofing press on high quality linen.

THE FAR SITE

The Far Site is first and foremost a book about friendship. While flickering through my archive I realized that these photographs, rather than talking about vandalism, told the story of the bond between us: of a certain form of life that found in graffiti the outlet from the difficulties of existence. As if in our relentless pursuit of a far site - hence the title of the book - we had found in that particular way of relating to the urban context the possibility of exorcising the various problems that afflicted the lives of each of us.

The Far Site book, printed in risograph and released a few weeks ago, is available at .publishing and at

REPAINTING SUBWAY ART - PRINT RELEASE

On the occasion of the “Patience” group exhibition that opened last weekend at Colab Gallery, we are releasing a 40x50 cm (15.75” x 19.69”) print in collaboration.

Tripl/Furious, a Dutch graffiti writer who uses both aliases, started in 2013 with a challenging project: recreating all the train graffiti and photos from the legendary book Subway Art, down to the smallest detail. It took him 10 years to complete, but the result is a monumental tribute to the original writers and photo- graphers. The print is based on the works featured on the cover of the original “Subway Art” book.

The print is printed on 270-gram Juno matt fine art paper and is printed in an edition of 150 + 5 APs.

The prints are numbered and signed by the artist and are available now through and .publishing

NEW RELEASE

The Far Site” is the first photography book by Italian photographer Francesco Marchini and is now available at .publishing

For over a decade (2008-2018), photographer Francesco Marchini documented a group of roman friends dedicated to graffiti. Rather than focusing on their artwork, he captured the spaces and moments they inhabited, emphasizing gestures, emotions, and spontaneous events. His photos span from abandoned industrial sites to archaeological ruins, train yards to residential squats, depicting the blend of vandalism and the struggles of daily life. In his monograph, “The Far Site,” Marchini pairs his black and white photos with semi-autobiographical fictional writing, exploring the narrative potential of these experiences and offering a deeper look into Rome’s graffiti scene, beyond its well-known stories.

The book was printed entirely with a risograph printer and is hand-bound in our own studio. The book consists of 68 photos and a text written by Francesco in Italian and translated in English.

Together with the book we are releasing a Gelatin Silver print from one of the photos from the book. The print which is sold together with the book is made in an edition of 30 + 5 AP’s.

“Vltra Oddity” is a contrasting collection of the different works by Hamburg based visual artist Moritz Green and is now available at .publishing

The art of Moritz Green ( ), transports the viewer into a fantastic universe full of painted and printed constellations on paper, canvas, and walls. An abstract mélange of hard-edge, yet often soft and seemingly floating forms in a memorable palette of colors. The influence of the typographic and visual vocabulary of the graffiti scene on Green’s imagery is obvious. But a closer look reveals subtle references to figurative elements, objects, and architectural fragments. The artist’s diverse sources of inspiration are expressed through visual allusion, as shown in his first self-initiated publication: “Vltra Oddity” presents a complementary juxtaposition of the artwork and photographic associations.

The inner pages of this 60-page hand-bound A4 magazine were digitally printed and for the cover we used black ink and our proof press to create 250 unique magazines. All magazines are numbered by the artist and the first 75 are signed.

Soon we will release a riso printed book in collaboration.

For more than ten years, photographer Francesco Marchini (.marchini) has been following a group of Roman friends in their tireless dedication and love for graffiti, capturing various intimate moments between the act of vandalism and the disillusioned passing of time. Using black and white photographs from the author’s personal archive as well as fictional writing, The Far Site creates a narrative that delves into the representation of a friendship that was marked by the experience of writing in the urban and suburban areas of Rome.

The book will be first presented during the Unlock Book Fair () which will take place at the Abguss-Museum in Munich (the 18th and 19th of May), after the fair it will be available online and at selected shops.

More info soon.

We also want to thank and .super_a for trusting us to create something beautiful in collaboration last year.

DEYA

From Friday afternoon (17 November - 15:00 CET), we will organise an exhibition in collaboration with artist Nayeli Deya Papilaja and Explore the North festival.

The exhibition will be held from 17 to 23 November in a small greenhouse placed on the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in our hometown Leeuwarden. Deya will perform a live painting and will sign some magazines on Saturday.

Deya’s style can be described as pure, imaginative and above all ‘childlike’ playful. Using different materials, she will create a cosy yet ‘grand’ exhibition, full of sculptures, painting, photography and drawings.

Hope to see you then :)
