Huge congratulations to Ola Onabule on winning Best International Jazz Album/Artist at the South African Jazz Awards. With a career spanning more than two decades, Ola has established himself as a distinctive and highly respected voice in contemporary jazz, drawing on jazz, soul and world music to create a repertoire marked by powerful storytelling, emotional depth and an unmistakable vocal presence. His music and extraordinary live performances have taken him to some of the world’s most respected jazz stages, including the Montreal, Vancouver, San Sebastián, Istanbul and Umbria Jazz Festivals, as well as performances with major ensembles such as the WDR Big Band, SWR Big Band and Danish Radio Big Band. This award is therefore a wonderful acknowledgement not only of the album, but of Ola’s remarkable contribution to the international jazz community. FreeWind Media brings Robert De Niro’s acclaimed directorial debut A Bronx Tale (In den Straßen der Bronx) to Blu-ray and 4K UHD in a premium presentation featuring AURO-3D immersive audio, offering audiences a new way to experience a film whose cultural resonance has only grown since its 1993 release. Set against the vibrant and turbulent Bronx of the 1960s, the film is far more than a traditional gangster story: adapted from Chazz Palminteri’s autobiographical one-man play, it is a deeply personal coming-of-age drama about family, identity, race, loyalty and the choices that shape a young man’s life.

Central to that sense of time and place is the film’s exceptional soundtrack, which brings together the doo-wop, soul, R&B, jazz, pop and Italian sounds that defined the era, featuring such legendary artists as Dion and the Belmonts, The Cleftones, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, The Rascals, Aaron Neville, Wilson Pickett, The Four Tops, Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. The music is woven into the fabric of the story, helping to make the Bronx itself feel like a character, while De Niro’s confident direction marked a remarkable transition from iconic actor to filmmaker.

The AURO-3D immersive audio provides an especially compelling way to rediscover the film’s richly layered sonic world.
