Vintage inspired analog recordings When you play retro 'vintage' inspired music and you are looking for that particular characteristic full warm American sound on your next recordings, you've got to have a recording proces, which has the same 'vintage' ingredients. If you compare it with a vintage guitar or a tube amp. Why are you playing that Fender or Gibson? Is it the playability of the guitar, the sound of the amp or because your guitar hero is playing on it? It is always about the sound you are looking for and that's exactly what we're doing here. We work with a lot of vintage ribbon mics like the RCA BX77 and tube preamps, because there is non of the same type of vintage equipment that sounds equal. They all have there own character. That's why use vintage studio outboard gear to give the recorded music, that extra character, which not only make's it good, but great! Tub Thumber Records is owned by Bird Stevens, a roots musician for almost 30 years, who gattered through those years a lot of vintage gear. From guitars, amps, to studio gear that where used by the famous artists in the famous studio's and labels in the 50ties 60ties, like Sunn records, Stax, Motown, early Blue-note, Excello.. to name a few. With TTR Bird Stevens created a recording studio in the Netherlands for artists who love the characteristic sound of vintage gear! Passioned about creating music and not in for the money. Our goal is to get you the recordings, the listener is blown away by, but most off all where you are proud of!
