KAVLI ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
How to bring (nano)science to a broader audience? How to connect scientists within a research institute? And how to open thought processes in pioneering research? Add an artist to your research team! ๐จโ๐จ
Each year, the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft invites an โartist-in-residenceโ for a three-month creative exchange to inspire and connect... ๐งช๐ฌ๐งฌ

#EnergyTransition Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment TU Delft
In honour of the year of #AntonivanLeeuwenhoek, 25 students of the minor 'Spaces of Display' of Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment TU Delft created designs that focus on unique aspects of Antoni van Leeuwenhoek's work. Their work, showcasing the creative possibilities of displaying the history of microbiology, was displayed in the exhibition FOCUS. TU Delft TV visited the exhibition; check out our newest 60 Seconds! ๐ฅ

Did you know that the energy from the sun may not come from above, but "from below your feet"? ๐
With renewable energy, the moment of generation often does not coincide with the moment of consumption. Underground we can find necessary space to store the surplus. But how can we do this in a way that allows us to actually use the energy once we need it? ๐ฅ

TUDELFT180 | TACKLING THE BATTERY CHALLENGE ๐
The energy transition poses several challenges. Batteries, essential for storing energy and driving mobility, are therefore a crucial research topic. For example, we often want to use energy at times other than when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. We need to efficiently store the energy for the moments when we need it. In the TU Delft Reactor Institute, processes in batteries are closely examined. How can we overcome current limitations?

To keep our planet liveable, we need to move quickly towards a sustainable energy system.
A system that is greener and smarter and which is just as safe and robust as todayโs electricity grid. A system that allows everyone to connect their solar panel and that allows any vehicle to recharge without any problems.
Check out the next video in our TU Delft Lustrum series, in which prof. Miro Zeman introduces the Electrical Sustainable Power Lab, as well as its necessity!

PROACTIVE ECO MODE
Driving in #eco mode brings benefits for the environment and for your wallet. However, it can also bring frustration, since it might prevent drivers from accelerating when they really need to. Together with Renault, TU Delft robot engineers tried to turn driving in eco mode into a positive driving experience while maintaining the eco fuel benefits, by letting a new car system 'predict the future'...
Our ideals do not always match our (needed) actions in practice. Tomorrow weโll see how we can bring the two closer together in the car, using Proactive Eco Mode
