I am sorry to hear that actress Maggie Smith, known for the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, died today at the age of 89.
In 2023, I conducted a project on capes and cloaks freely inspired on Maggie Smith’s role as Professor Minerva McGonagall.

The thirteenth project of the 'Dynamic weaving' series is based on a story of Alcyone, the daughter of Ae**us, the god of the wind, from Greek mythology. Alcyone was turned into a kingfisher by Zeus. In the Netherlands, the Kingfisher is called Ice Bird. The whole story can be read in issue 22 of WoolWench TinyStudio Creative Life Magazine. It revolves around the personal and professional life of Phryne Fisher, a glamorous private investigator in 1920s Melbourne. I made a bag to carry my Dynamic heddle loom. I am happy with the result.
There is enough space for the loom. The pockets on the inside can hold the accessories. There is even free space left for the yarns. From leftover fabric, I made a pouch for small tools such as scissors and a tape measure.
