I never really share my photography on socials. My main skill is in film and that’s where I’m comfortable in. I do really enjoy taking stills though, it is such a diverse way to catch motions and emotions on a sensor.

Recently I picked up ‘s R5mii in a quest to do more with stills instead of video. Man, what a machine this thing is.
These pics are the first I took - luckily was keen to show some of his skills at our local surfspot!

I’m stoked to show you guys a bit more stills in the coming weeks. After that I’ll be off on another trip for to shoot more film again ☺️

Yesterday we got to testdrive a new little project we’re working on (see last pic, more on that later 💡🔥) And in the meantime went out on the Moustache for a flight at Wijk aan Zee. Such an epic sight, flying under a moonlit sky ☺️

Een van de kitefilms waar ik vroeger altijd naar keek toen ik net begon met kiten was 'Naish House'. Kevin Langeree, Ian Alldredge, en alle legendes die samen op Maui waren zorgde voor een geweldige vibe.

Vorige maand ging ik met Team Naish naar Brazilie met het idee om eenzelfde soort film te maken; 'Naish House Brazil'.
Alle stijlen en karakters samen maakte het een sicke trip!

Dikke freestyle van oa Ewan Jaspan en Louka Pitot, de classic downwinders met het hele team, alle bekende Brazil spots en natuurlijk sicke stunts van Stig Hoefnagel.

En ik ben benieuwd wat jullie er van vinden!

On 23 September 2021 there was a once in a year storm forecasted for the North of Denmark. The top 18 Big Air kiteboarders gathered at the little town of Vorupor to hold the Cold Hawaii Games.

Mother nature delivered up to 12 beaufort winds combined with huge waves resulting in an epic show.

Here is a quick and dirty edit of the competition. No crowds (there were plenty) No landings (who cares about those) just raw action and atmosphere. This one is for the kiteboarders.

We recently shot a kiteboarding clip for starring Stig Hoefnagel, Toine De Klerk and Timo Boersema. Gray, rainy, cold and gusty conditions turned it into a classic Dutch winter session.
Since kiteboarding shoots always produce a lot more footage than needed, we cut this clip so you can join us on this typical kiteboarding day at the Zandmotor.

Due to Covid-19, Naish Kiteboarding couldn't fly the team to Hawaii for the foto and videoshoots with the new Season 25 gear. So they decided to work with local media to create a combined video with footage from all over the globe. We at The Stoke Farm shot the Dutchies' part with Stig Hoefnagel and Cohan Van Dijk.

Naturally, just a small part of the footage was used. So I've used the leftovers to cut a 'behind the scenes' of the shoot. Getting sent away, dirty lenses, howlings winds.. It wasn't an easy one! But that's the way we like it.

Elk jaar komen de Zwarte Sternen uit West-Afrika naar de Krimpenerwaard om hier te broeden. In slechts 2 maanden groeien de kuikens uit van ei tot vliegvlugge vogel.

De Zwarte Stern broedde vroeger altijd op krabbenscheer, een waterplant. Maar door de achteruitgang van de waterkwaliteit is er steeds minder krabbenscheer.. Daarom zetten vrijwilligers verspreid over de polder nestvlotjes uit voor de Zwarte Stern. En met succes! Zie hoe de Zwarte Sternen dit jaar weer zijn opgegroeid..

Each year, the Black Terns travel from West-Afrika to the Krimpenerwaard to breed. They only need 2 months to grow from egg to adult bird.

The Black Tern used to build their nests on aquatic plants, but due to the declining water quality these plants have almost gone lost. Volunteers place little rafts troughout the fields to offer the Black Tern a proper place to breed. And with succes! See for yourself how the Black Terns have grown up this spring..

Dutch Forest Wildlife

It's always great to be in touch with nature, anywhere and anyway you can. I've spend a day shooting this wildlife in the woods last week on assignment for Nationaal Park Hollandse Duinen. I thought I'd share some with you, trying to pass on the experience.

North-West Europe experienced a full gale storm this week. The weather agencies adviced to stay indoors, with winds speeds exceeding 140 km/h, wreaking havoc in the UK and the Netherlands..

But some people just live for these conditions. Watch how Kevin de Smidt chased the storm around the coast of South-Holland: Through the peak of the storm at the Tweede Maasvlakte to the aftermath at Scheveningen Strand, in the search of his moment of silence.
