The Dutch Connection.
Interessant om te zien hoe Toni Basanta vanuit de USA de Nederlandse muziek scene observeert en een lijn trekt tussen de Shocking Blue en de ontwikkelingen op het gebied van latin muziek in Nederland vanaf begin van de 90er jaren.
Geweldig dat Toni tevens een van mijn voormalige leraren en inspiraties, drummer Oscarito Valdes (RIP) noemt.

Persbericht: Nieuw muziekpodium in Amsterdam

Met de nieuwe programmering zal het podium Mystique zich naast latin muziek ook gaan richten op jazz, soul, world, funk, (nu) disco en aanverwante genres. De Cubop City Big Band (sinds 1995) van drummer Lucas van Merwijk zal elke laatste maandag van de maand in Mystique gaan optreden.
