Finally got round to it: refreshing our drum kits! All kicks, toms and snares fitted with new , cleaned and tuned.
Some of the snares and toms still had the stock heads om them, boy do these new heads clear them up!
The Sonor kit is fitted out for Rock/ Metal styles, while the Pacifica is fitted out for Jazz/Pop. There's a wide choice of snares available to use on each kit.

These two drumsets sound new, punchy, loud, deep, funky...

Besides the drumheads, we also got some cool new kick drum be**ers to play around with, of which the Samba be**er is a really cool addition.

SOUL CYPHER X LIL’ HEAVEN STUDIO’S STUDIO TOUR 🔥

asked our oasis to open the doors during their festival on November 12th!

What to expect:
This day is for musicians, producers, vocalists and music related organizations to come take a look at the studio. If you’re looking for a new place to create music or a production team for your next videoclip, this is your chance to get a first impression and get in contact with us!

We will create a “mini HEAVEN HEAVEN live session” set and a band set-up in the live room. You’re welcome to chat with us about collaborations with the studio, our production team or tech wizard for all technical questions. You can even try some things out in the live room or just have a tour of the studio.

Decca in action!
So here we have the DIY Decca tree in action on the quartet.

The Decca delivers the body, with spot mics on, respectively:
- Royer 121 on tenor
- AKG414 on Alt
- RCA Dx77 on Bariton
- AKG414 on Soprano sax

Blend to taste, with a dash of AMS reverb...

Decca tree... DIY
The Decca tree, originally developed at Decca Studios in the 1950's, is a type of A/B spaced stereo with additional centre mic. Beautiful for orchestral recording, but also jazz or other small, acoustic ensembles.
These bars are quite expensive! So, we did a DIY. Two sturdy mic stands, a couple of clamps and a measuring tape. 10 minutes later, there she is, ready to record a saxophone quartet tomorrow!

We're using 3 M260's in this case, lovely small diaphragm tube bliss, straight to "tape" via our SSL Origin and Apogee Symphony.
