This week landed in Miami and it was the first edition with serious NFT art presence. We were asked to create a Snapchat Lens as part of the Doodles NFT collection which is a generative art project. We translated some of the 2D Doodle traits to 3D assets and added a randomizer feature. With the Lens, u can now generate yourself into a Doodle. I see a lot of potential here once we can connect blockchain technology to, in this case, Lens Studio. Thoughts?

For the 10 year anniversary of the together with Snap Inc. we created a set of Lenses to experience 5 of the 23 art installations by daylight. Using AR, we turn day into night and show a 3D animated and magical version of the art installations. Check the link in bio to try the national Lens “Light a Wish”.

We created this prototype back in 2019 to see if we could work with 3D landmarkers to trigger AR effects within Instagram. Worked pretty well and it shows how AR can enrich the user experience by adding virtual content to physical objects. Nowadays, Machine Learning within Snap Lenses is boosting this feature and makes it possible to basically recognize and track and augment any physical object or product.

As part of a collaboration between luxury brand NFT platform .io and we helped bring to live the new Diesel ‘Prototype’ style - first presented as part of the Spring/Summer ’22 collection designed by Diesel’s creative director, Glenn Martens - as an NFT virtual try-on with Snapchat. Very good to see brands are exploring the NFT field and understand how augmented reality can play an important part in engaging their audience with virtual fashion.

Check out our entry for the . We wanted to fully immerse the user into the Cyberpunk world so we added a build up animation towards the end result. This shows how the users face is being altered based on panels placed on the face. Hope you like it!

The satisfaction when you see something that has been in your head come to life is amazing. The 3D modeling and animation is done by our talented 3D artist based on an idea we had for a Lens we are working on. We are now making a low poly version which will be available soon for anyone to "try on" as a Snapchat Lens.

Based on the reactions for the Snapchat 3D hand tracking prototype we created last week, we decided to release a live version which can be tried by everyone. The “Flower Power” Lens is activated by a peace-sign hand gesture. When you make a fist, the Flower Power hand goes back to a neutral state. We are testing out Snap’s new 3D handtracking feature (released in beta). Still needs some work but very cool to see this working. This test works with a 3D hand gesture trigger. Closing and opening the hand triggers the animation.

It’s really great seeing our junior AR creators making cool new things (with some guidance by their seniors). Today Capitola.Social is launching the Data Jacket Lens experiment. This dynamic Lens uses real-time input like weather and night time data to show a specific virtual fashion piece which you can try on with Snap Inc. 3D body tracking. The Data Jacket has three states which change with sunny weather, cloudy weather and night time.

Combing Snapchat Lenses with the NFT space brings a new dimension to Augmented Reality and Blockchain tech. A virtual fashion piece you can try on through Snapchat and own as an NFT. Together with we created this amazing Instagram AR effect as part of Vogue’s “The Future Issue” which is available as of today. With the AR effect we focussed on engaging users by bringing the couture dress showcased on the cover to life. We worked with a flow map giving depth to the dress and added floating feathers with a particle effect. We also animated the title as 3D text. To give the AR effect a higher sharing value we added a selfie effect based on the same style used in the cover. Thanks for the opportunity to work on this!

With Max Verstappen’s most recent GP win, the launch of the Instagram AR effect we created with for CarNext.com couldn’t be better. Love the way the helmet was created from scratch and the speed/warp/trembling effect and reflection we added to give the user that actual F1 speed feeling. Tyr it now at the link in bio.
