Gilbert Amartey Amar 1952 – 2021

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Gilbert Amartey Amar, founding member and bandleader of Edikanfo has passed away on Sunday the 18th of April in Accra, Ghana. Over the past decade, Gilbert, alias Chi-kin-chee, has been the driving force behind the revival of his band Edikanfo, ultimately resulting in the re-release of their debut album ‘The Pace Setters’ last year. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Thank you for sharing your art and amazing personality with us Gilbert, it has been an honor working with you.
