Founded in 1997 by producer Jeroen van den Idsert and director YANi, Hazazah produces commercials, motion graphics, music videos, leaders, photography, photography books, sound, online games and feature films. We work together with a talented group of directors, photographers, directing photographers and motion d

In addition to producing the work of our in-house creatives, we provide quality production services for (inter)national film and photography projects, covering every stage of the production process. In ‘Roofkunst’, geregisseerd door Hans Pool, onderzoekt Erik Dijkstra de omstreden herkomst van kunststukken, die momenteel te vinden zijn in Europese musea. Hij kijkt of wat binnen de context van die tijd legitiem leek, nog wel past in ons huidige tijdsgewricht. Roofkunst gaat niet alleen gaat over het teruggeven van kunst, maar ook over de manier waarop we omgaan met ons koloniale verleden.

Big supporter of music Krijn van Noordwijk has been shooting portraits for ADE, Amsterdam Dance Event, for over 10 years. This year he is working on a fresh series of over 100 portraits of artists, staff, and people from the audience, as commissioned again by the festival! The audio was made by Krijn himself!
The Art Dispute (Roofkunst): A documentary series produced by Hazazah Pictures and BNNVARA - based on an idea by Maarten Kuit. Directed by Hans Pool and presentation by Erik Dijkstra. A diamond, a cannon, parts of a marble temple or the bust of a queen are exhibited in European museums, but currently the origin and ownership of these objects are under discussion. They were taken during wartime, revolutions and colonialism. What within its time-specific context seemed legitimate, may be looked at differently nowadays. Recently there is a growing recognition of the validity of restitution claims. But what is cultural ownership? Who owns culture? In this four-part television series, the historical legacy and its current implications are examined. Each of the episodes is centered around a disputed object. "Roofkunst" sheds new light on its cultural, artistic and historical meaning. We talk to art historians, museum curators and directors, visit the countries where the artifacts originated from and meet experts to give insight into the dilemma’s involved in these issues. What should museums do or should not do about disputed objects? Where do treasures from the past rightly belong, and why? From April 16 “Roofkunst” will be broadcast by BNNVARA on NPO 2 every Friday at 22:20.
The Knuckle Princess #choosetochallenge To highlight International Women’s day, Hazazah launches the short film The Knuckle Princess; an ode to Eri Yoshida who, as a 16 year old girl, became Japan’s first and only female baseball player that competed equally among the men in the professional baseball league. It is about our inner voice calling us. A voice that challenges our beliefs. A voice that inspires us to pursue our dreams - how unattainable they may seem.
