The name DarcyTrash was originally used by Darcy H. to release gig videos of hardcore punk bands that performed in and around Amsterdam with the occasional jump over to the US and Tokyo. But this wasn’t enough anymore and something started to grow in Darcy, a yearning to add more to the dutch hardcore music scene. So he and Ivo vo
n Arr, singer for dutch hc/punk band De Aanslag, got together and decided to start a label. Seeing as the name DarcyTrash was already out there and already pretty well known they chose to stick with the name and simply add the word Records to it. With the idea of releasing a 12’’ vinyl record of De Aanslag, the first band was signed to the roster. The record was recorded in one weekend with the illustrious Mike D. of SAF and Waking the Dead fame at his Dead Area Recording Facility in Haarlem. After 'signing' De Aanslag DTR got in touch with their friends of the Local Spastics and they put things in motion to release their first 7'' 'Daily Routine'. Darcy Trash Records will always operate under a non-profit ideology and will do what they can to support the dutch loud music scene.
