Yesterday, My Husband His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio officially launched the “Hands Off Our Girls” Foundation at a sumptuous dinner dedicated to honoring individuals, organizations, and agencies that have significantly contributed to this vital cause.

This initiative has positioned Sierra Leone as a leader in recognizing and addressing the issues surrounding child sexual exploitation, abuse, and violence, particularly in alignment with the United Nations World Day.

On this note, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my sponsors but most importantly, my husband, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, whose support has provided me with the platform to amplify my voice for the protection of the rights of women and girls.

Our gallant RSLAF is one with an unique way of bidding farewell to their Chief of Defence Staff when he serves meritoriously with distinction. In 2022, it was a colourful affair as an outgone CDS General Sesay was 'pulled out' by troops to bring in General Lavahun. Today, it was turn of General Lavahun to be 'pulled out' by troops for incoming CDS, General Idara A. Bangura. It was a beautiful😍 and colourful 🇸🇱 ceremony.

This event celebrated individuals like His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, myself, and deserving Sierra Leoneans who have made significant contributions to the advancement and protection of human rights within our nation.

During this memorable event, I was not only awarded a certificate of recognition but also received another certificate on behalf of my husband, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, the father of democracy in Sierra Leone.

On behalf of my husband, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated in making this event a success and urge all to work collaboratively towards a future where human rights are universally respected and protected.

This morning, I was privileged to launch the Real Man campaign on behalf of my husband, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, in an event organized by the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

During the launch, I highlighted the progress made by the government of Sierra Leone in liberating women from societal bo***ge and providing them with a rightful space in our society. Thanks to the real man, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, for his unwavering commitment to these vital issues.

In light of the recent tragic case involving Kadija, who was allegedly r***d and killed by a teacher, I unequivocally condemn such heinous acts and commit to lending my voice to this cause and work towards bringing justice for this poor angel.

Together, we can foster an environment where gender-based violence is not tolerated and where every individual can live free from fear.

Today, we delivered on another promise to the people of Sierra Leone. For the very first time in the history of this country, I launched the commencement of ODHAV multi-industries in Songo. This is the first steel manufacturing industry in Sierra Leone. We are assured by the company of the highest standards of steel products on the Sierra Leonean market. This will cut down immensely on the cost of foreign exchange and the expensive global supply chain for imported steel.

This new industry eases pressure on our foreign exchange reserves and provides thousands of skilled and unskilled jobs for our young citizens.

This transformative development should, indeed, be cherished by all of us, and we should all be firmly united in protecting this investment in Sierra Leone.
