IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

PASSING OUT/DISTRIBUTION OF CERTIFICATE OF NATIONAL SERVICE

The passing-out for the 2019 Batch "B" Stream 1 Corps Members has been slated nationwide for Thursday, 28th May, 2020.

The event shall be devoid of ceremonial parade as a result of the great threat and danger posed by Coronavirus which the entire globe has been battling.

In keeping with COVID-19 protocol of social/physical distancing, Certificate of National Service (CNS) shall be issued to qualified Corps Members at the Local Government level.

Accordingly, a full complement of NYSC Officers have been mobilised for the distribution; and shall do so from ten service points in each of the Local Government Councils.

As a precautionary measure, the distribution shall be staggered for a period of ten days in the first instance, in order to remove anxiety from the concerned Corps Members, in addition to making the activity seamless and less cumbersome.

Management heartily congratulates the 2019 Batch "B" Stream 1 Corps Members for the successful completion of the service, which undeniably is a major milestone.

Dear Corps Members, as you go for your CNS from Thursday, 28th May, remember to ensure the strictest observance of discipline; anchored on orderliness, adherence to instructions, added to the rules of social/physical distancing, use of facemask, hand sanitiser and proper washing of the hands with liquid soap for at least twenty seconds during the activity.

It is imperative to state that Corps Members who at present are not in their States of service need not violate the ban on inter-state journeys which is still in force.

However, as soon as the ban is lifted and it is safe to travel, they are expected to go to their respective States of service to collect their CNS.

Kindly note that unclaimed certificates shall be returned to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja two weeks after the lifting of inter-state travel ban.

*ADAMAWA NYSC COMMENCES PRODUCTION OF PREVENTIVE MATERIALS AGAINST COVID 19 TO THE STATE*

The Adamawa State NYSC in a bid to key into the State Government's preventive measures against Coronavirus Covid 19, has commenced the production of face masks, hand wash and sanitizers to be donated as part of their contribution to the State Government's effort.

The State Coordinator Mal. Ibrahim Mohammad Tukur, said even though there is no reported case of the virus in Adamawa, The items will go a long way in serving as a Preventive measures against the contact and spread of the deadly virus.

During an inspection of the production of items at the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entreprenuership Development Centre (SAED) at the federal secretariat complex, Yola, by the assistant Director heading the branch Mrs Jummai Wange Kwache she commended the laudable creativity and initiative of the participating Corps members for their selfless service to humanity.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Director - General, National Youth Service Corps, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim conveys best wishes to all Corps Members and enjoins them to remain calm, but vigilant in the face of the global threat posed by COVID-19.

In this connection therefore, he admonishes Corps Members to stay tuned to the television and radio sets, as well as the new media, particularly the NYSC Social Media platforms for important information, especially on health and security matters.

Corps Members are advised to avoid crowd, limit the frequency of exposures to friends, acquaintances and those whose level of indiscriminate socialisations may make them susceptible to infection by the deadly virus.

Notwithstanding government's directive barring public servants on grade level 12 and below (which includes Corps Members) from reporting to work, Corps Medical Personnel, comprising Corps doctors, pharmacists and paramedics shall continue to offer essential medical services to the Nation in line with their professional callings in their respective states of deployment.

Accordingly, their employers are hereby implored to give them the needed support in their mission of rendering humanitarian services. The support includes, but not limited to availing them of protective wears which are of great essence in this time of global challenge.

In specific terms, the Director-General advises Corps doctors and paramedics to ensure the highest degree of safety consciousness as they play the noble role of safeguarding the health of the Nation.

*2020 BATCH A STREAM ONE PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS DEPLOYED TO ADAMAWA STATE, SWORN-IN TODAY*

The 2020 Batch 'A' stream one prospective Corps Members deployed to Adamawa state, sworn-in today by Hon. Justice Danladi Mohammed.

The NYSC State Coordinator Mal. Ibrahim M.Tukur, in his address expressed his unalloyed appreciation to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his continues support to move the scheme in the State forward , speaking further, Ibrahim also extending appreciation to his team of dedicated Camp staff officials for their unreserved support.

The Hon. Commissioner ministry of youth and sports/ Chairman NYSC Governing Board Mal. Sanusi Faruk Joro, in his address expressed gratitude to His Excellency for his love to the scheme and for coming to preside over the ceremony every now and then as well extending appreciation to the invited guest for leaving their tight schedule all the time to Grace the occasion.

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, who was ably represented by the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government (SSG) Engr. Bashir Ahmed Bello, in his address welcomed the prospective Corps Members to the State and also adviced them to shun any negative criticisms on social media against Adamawa as the state is peaceful. Engr. Bashir on behalf of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt. Hon . Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and good indigenes of the state thanked the Corps Members for representing the state well at the annual Sports and Cultural Festival, winning trophies for the state after his appreciation the SSG gave a cash gift to the team for making the state proud. At the end of the ceremony the SSG went round to inspect the Camp facilities among the facilities his inspected are the Camp Clinic and the Kitchen.
