ONDO STUDENTS HOLDS JOINT PROTEST OVER PROLONGED ASUU STRIKE. ✊

Students of different Universities in Ondo state have blocked the Ilesha) Akure road over prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in the country.

The students are from the federal university of technology, Akure, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Olusegun Agagu University of Technology, Okitipupa.

They barricaded the road to vent their anger over their continued stay at home due to protacted industrial action by the striking lecturers.

Their action forced many motorists and travellers to be stranded.

stormed the major highway at the main entrance of the Institution, chanting different solidarity songs and displayed placards with various inscriptions.

Thursday morning, A female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto reportedly k and burnt by some angry persons on campus over alleged blasphemy.

Nigerians have since then demanding justice for the late victim identified as Ms Deborah.

Subsequently, the Nigeria Police in Sokoto State said; at least two suspected persons have been arrested and more spotted suspects will be nailed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa'ad has condemned the incident and preaches peaceful co-existence.

He's one of the delegates from AE-FUNAI to be representing NIGERIA at the Pan African Universities Debate Championship, Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya.

They made it to the international level after their outstanding performance at the just concluded All Nigerian Universities Debate Championship held few days ago in University of Ilorin, Ilorin Kwara state Nigeria.

NYSC gave me platform to learn, I took it upon myself to sew clothes for orphans - Obioma Peace. | AdeChuks Media

Miss Obioma Peace Mmuojama, a graduate of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike who is currently undergoing her one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in Kogi State has taken it upon herself to sew clothes for all children at an orphanage home in the state.

Obioma also urged other serving Corps members and Prospective Corps Members to embrace the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.

According to her in a statement made available on Facebook, "I urge every other youths out there that are currently serving and those that will serve in the nearest future to embrace SAED, learn a skill.

"No knowledge is a waste after all NYSC gave me the platform to continue with my fashion and designing trainings then, I took it upon myself to sew clothes for all the children at Omolayo home care orphanage Mopamuro. With the help of Destiny Fashion world, the clothes were ready within a period of one week.

"Well meaning Nigerians gave me financial support of which I used to accomplish the said task, I was able to buy so many things including footwears, edibles like tubers of yam, packs of semolina, cartons of indomie, spaghetti, tea, milk etc.

"God sees our hearts and will surely bless the supporters of this very project. Amen". She stated.
