While on the run, they become true blood sisters, leaving a trail of blood, opening a cauldron of secrets and hideous actions.
The film is actually a four-part series with titles like, ‘Run, Sisters Run,’ ‘The Hunt,’ and ‘The Catch.’
Several interesting scenarios play out in the film.
The portrait of the prestigious Ademola Family with the prototype politics, secrets, messy scandals, corrupt practices in high places and cover-ups, is presented.
A high-class traditional marriage, involving the Ademola Family, in a luxurious hotel where a series of events occur.
The mother-of-the groom, Uduak Ademola, matriarch of the Ademola Family is the epitome of arrogance and has great disdain for the family her son, played by Deyemi Okanlawon, a rising Nollywood star, seeks to take his wife, from.
She spews words that show her disdain.
‘Pathetic family from the village. I'll rather take the heat than be saddled with those peasants for the rest of my life.’
‘I feel more for a person on a street corner than for you,’
Her disdain extends to her own daughter whom she tells, ‘You're a useless drug addict who has been a disappointment to me since the day you were born.’
Veteran Nollywood actress, Uche Jumbo, interpreted to perfection her role of the mother-of-the- bride, who is subservient to the matriarch of the Ademola Family. When her daughter tells her that the groom is physically abusing her, she is quick to brush it off.
‘You're willing to let go of everything because of one slap? My enemies are at work. Your father's business wouldn't have survived without the support of this family. Look at me. See this hotel we are staying in. This is what money can do,’ she tells her shocked daughter.
‘My life depends on that loan,’ her father adds his own reason why his daughter must marry the groom.
Their casual treatment of domestic violence is a sad commentary on materialism.
Daniel Etim Effiong as the best friend of the groom, after his grand outing as Officer Dabara Kurukeme in the African Magic detective series classic, Brotherhood Brethren, gives a good account of himself, when he uncovers a buried secret.
Wale Ojo, the British-born Nollywood actor, nicknamed Officer Chicago, gives a unique touch to the series.
The parade of veterans like Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Zack Orji, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Ramsey Noah, Wale Ojo, Segun Arinze, Bimbo Manuel, Maurice Sam,Patrick Doyle and Uche Jumbo, long-time players like Gabriel Afolayan Kehinde Bankole, Ibrahim Suleiman of Tinsel fame, Toyin Abraham, fast-rising players like Deyemi Okanlanwon, Ini dima Okojie and Nancy Isime, with a guest appearance of Derenle Edu, gives the series a touch of excitement, excellence and glamour.
Genoveva Umeh gave a spectacular performance as Timeyin, the crazy sister, of the groom and is a rising-star actress to watch out for.
The film is a rolling ball of intrigue, suspense and twists that can cause the watchers to feel dizziness, especially when Kola Ademola and Uduak Ademola’s true identities are uncovered, as the race to uncover the truth and unveil an unpredictable outcome continue
