On Jan. 29, 2024, a user on X posted (archived) that the White House announced U.S. President Joe Biden had taken an aptitude test that found he had an IQ of 187. The news supposedly was shared by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that morning, the post claimed.

"White House claims Joe Biden's IQ is 187," the post read. "Karine Jean-Pierre just finished her Monday morning briefing and said that ⁦the Joe Biden took an 'aptitude test' and got an overwhelming '187 IQ,' making him the smartest president in U.S. history! 187 might be his weight or height?"

Biden responded at length:

"I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do, I suspect. I went to law school on a full academic scholarship. The only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship. And the first year in law school, I decided I didn't want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class, and then decided I wanted to stay, went back to law school and in fact ended up in the top half of my class. I won the international moot court competition. I was the outstanding student in the political science department at the end of my year. I graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school and 165 credits. You only need 123 credits. And I would be delighted to sit down and compare my IQ to yours if you'd like, Frank."

4 PERSONS WERE KILLED OVER DOWRY PAYMENT FIGHT IN BIEH..

Four persons were killed and one injured in Padiek County of Bieh State following a dowry payment row between two families on Tuesday, a lawmaker said.

The deadly fighting involved members of the Cie-Pajok and Cie-Bur clans of Padiek County in the greater Uror area.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, Mamur Gatluak, a lawmaker representing Padiek constituency in the state legislative assembly said clashes started on Tuesday and resumed Wednesday morning.

“Fighting started after a misunderstanding when six men from Cie-Bur went to Cie-Pajok to claim two of their cows as part of dowry,” Gatluak explained.

“Two men from Cie-Bur were killed on Tuesday. The following morning, Cie-Bur retaliated, killing two people from Cie-Pajok and another person was seriously injured,” he added.

The lawmaker, however, pointed out that relative calm has returned to the area since Wednesday after security forces were deployed.

Over 65% of the population in South Sudan relies on livestock for their survival.

Cattle are used not only for milk and meat, but to pay dowry to the bride’s family before a marriage in many parts of the country.

US 🇺🇸 sends message to UN:

The US government has told the United Nations that it is prepared to take additional action “as necessary” in the Middle East to protect American personnel and interests.

This was contained in a letter to the UN Security Council, by US Ambassador, Kelly Craft.

The President Donald Trump’s led government said in the letter that the killing of Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad on Friday was justified under Article 51 of the UN Charter, according to Al Jazeera.

Under Article 51, countries are required to immediately report to the 15-member Security Council any measures taken in exercising the right of self-defence.

The United States said it used Article 51 to justify taking action in Syria against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) in 2014.

Maj. Gen. Soleimani, the Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was killed in a US airstrike on his convoy near Baghdad airport on Friday.

President Trump later gave reasons for the army chief’s assassination.

The airstrike has since generated a lot of controversies and reactions from world leaders.

Just yesterday, Iran launched over 15 missiles on US targets in Iraq in retaliation to the death of Qassem Soleimani, who was buried on Tuesday.

Iran had issued another warning that any US retaliation to the missile attacks in Baghdad would lead to an all-out war in the Middle East.

America said it would continue to work towards defending its personnel and assets in the region.

IRAQ 🇮🇶 PM says he received signed US ‘withdrawal’ letter Monday

Iraq’s premier Adel Abdel Mahdi confirmed on Tuesday that he had received what the US said was a draft letter describing steps its military would take to “move out” of Iraq.

The Pentagon had said an unsigned draft version of the letter had been mistakenly sent, but the Iraqi premier disputed that claim.

In a cabinet meeting televised on Tuesday evening, Abdel Mahdi said he had received signed.

And translated copies at 8:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) Monday.
