CELEBRATE YOUR WINS, HOWEVER SMALL OR BIG

A friend of mine has her birthday today, she had told me how she wished someone will buy her a birthday cake. She literally made it a point of prayer.

As God will have, a kind hearted individual gifted her a cake. He had it sent to her doorsteps. She showed me the cake and how happy she was to actually have a cake today.

She really didn't plan for a birthday, all she ever wanted was a cake. It was more than a craving, it was a dream even though it didnt seemed like.

On seeing the cake i responded, "congrats", she responded, "ah ah! Ordinary cake??", "when my mates are getting car gifts".

She had forgotten how badly she wanted the cake.

Sometimes in life, when we get what we always wanted we forget to celebrate or be thankful of it. We even commonise it.

I remember how badly i wanted to get admission. Or how badly i wanted to go for NYSC. All my wants have somehow in one way or another come through and sometimes i forget how badly i wanted it. It is not limited to material presents, sometimes, a feeling or an accomplishment, a partnership or a person in our life. Particularly, when i eventually was doing NYSC it didn't seem like a big deal anymore, but this was something i really really wanted.

My friend, just like many of us, do not know how much God has blessed us with at every given point. We compare our small wins with others or relate it with age but remember, accomplishments or success is relative, that cars she related her small win to, somebody somewhere who received it as a gift have also commonised it and compared his/herselves to "their mates" who at their age get properties as gifts, or even new big businesses etc. Others do not even get cakes to celebrate birthdays with. Some do not have good health to crave for such birthday presents.

We all want something, whenever you get what you want, do not forget to be grateful for it and celebrate! Never neglect little beginnings. Generate happiness from every win no matter how little.

Journey of a thousand miles begin with a step. Cherish every bit of that step.✌

Bolaji Agbede has been appointed the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings. This comes two days after the death of Herbert Wigwe, who held the position.

Wigwe died in a helicopter crash alongside his wife, son, and a former chairman of the Nigeria Exchange Group, Abimboloa Ogunbanjo on Friday.

Agbede, the most senior executive director, now heads Nigeria’s biggest bank by assets.

She served in different roles at the bank including, Head, Group Human Resources between 2010 and 2022 before she was appointed the company’s founding Executive Director, Business Support in 2022, a role she held until her new appointment

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Cranfield University UK in 2002.

Access Bank officially announces the déath of it's CEO and Co-founder, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, CFR. Shares plan to appoint new CEO immediately.

There's a lesson here, if a CEO who is also a co-founder can be quickly replaced, while doing that job of yours, do it with caution, safety & heart at heart. Never work in the detriment to your own self or other co-workers, the world will replace you and move on. Peace!

Herbert Migwe | CEO & Co-founder of Access Bank Plc | 15 August 1966 – 9 February 2024 (57 years old) from Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria.

In the heart of Nigeria, Herbert Wigwe's journey began with a dream shared with his partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede – a dream to own their own bank. Working as executive directors at Guaranty Trust Bank, they faced the intense and very difficult world of boardroom politics, compelling them to incubate a dream that seemed beyond their reach.

Every year, Herbert Wigwe had this culture that he did not miss.

He was a big fan of the Super Bowl, the biggest sports ritual in America, and so he cleared his table to travel to California to watch a sport that helps him relax and rejuvenate and which he considers one of his guilty pleasures.

Undeterred by their young age and financial capacity at the time, Herbert at age 35, sought investors like Cosmas Maduka of Coschsris Motors, turning his dream into the reality of Access Bank. Despite being told they were too young by CBN staff, Herbert and Aig pressed on, taking the helm of Access Bank in 2002 in his 30's.

Herbert wasn't just a leader; he was a visionary who believed in the impossible. His impact extended beyond boardrooms, as exemplified by Editi Effiong, whose life changed when Herbert recognized the potential in his work and entrusted him with Access Bank's social media.

A man of generosity and belief in others, Herbert empowered countless young minds, leaving a legacy that reaches beyond his lifetime. His love for his wife, Chizoba, was profound, and their tragic passing while entwined in each other's arms is a testament to the depth of their connection.

As Herbert's journey on earth concludes, we mourn the loss of a transformative business leader, but we find solace in the lasting impact of Access Bank and Wigwe University. How CAN I Go Back To My Husband?

I divorced my husband out of group influence last year in 2023. I started working as a nurse, and my friends told me that I could do without a man. So I got motivation from friends and left my husband. As I'm talking, two of my friends who advised me to leave my marriage got married recently. I feel lonely and I can't find another man. So far, I have dated five men, and they just sleep with me and go.

These men despite dating me they never respected me owing to fact that I'm not that attractive because I'm in my thirties. One of my boyfriends got married to a young girl recently leaving me heartbroken.

I'm tired and I need to be in my house with my loving husband. My actions were out of immaturity and wrong advice from evil friends.

I realised my mistakes. How can I convince him to allow me back? How can I persuade my husband?
