STORY OF THE FISH_
by Obed Imere

Once upon a time, a worker who was very poor found some work as a fisherman's helper. He was paid a few fish a day, and this kept him and his wife alive, though barely. One day the worker caught an especially pretty little fish. As he turned it over in his hands, he thought, "Why, what a marvelous fish this is!" Suddenly the fish spoke to him, in a human voice.

"See here, brother man! Just moments ago I was playing with my friends, and I got caught in your net. Now here I am in your hands, suffering and probably dying! My parents and my playmates must be searching for me and worrying terribly about me." Now the talking fish was gasping. "Please have pity on me. Throw me back into the water!"

The worker gazed at the marvelous talking fish. Could it be true? Was it possible that a fish lives a life filled with joys and sorrows, also? He quickly threw the fish back into the water. "All right, my pretty little fish, go along and play again -- I don't want your parents and friends to worry any more about you!"

When the worker's boss, the fisherman, saw this, he became very angry.

"You fool!" he yelled to the worker. "I hired you to catch fish, not to throw them back into the water! You're a worthless fool! Begone with you - I don't ever want to see you again!"

And the poor worker walked sadly home. "What shall I tell my wife?" he wailed, dreading what would happen to them without his job.

He was walking along the road plunged in his unhappy thoughts, when suddenly he saw a Monster in human shape coming toward him. The Monster was driving a very fine cow before him.

"Good day, brother," said the Monster. "Why do you seem so sad?"

The worker told him his story.

"See here, my friend," said the Monster. "I'm going to do you a favor. Do you see this cow? I'll let you keep her for three years. She'll give you plenty of good milk every day, and you and your wife will never go hungry. But listen carefully to this condition: When three years have passed, I will come and ask certain questions of you. If you answer them correctly, the cow will be yours. But if you don't, then I'll take both of you along with the cow, and do whatever I want with you. So -- do you accept?"

The worker thought, "I suppose it's better to take the cow now than to go hungry. At least we'll be able to sell the milk and live for three years, and then we'll see what happens. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to answer those questions." So he accepted the terms, took the cow and went home relieved and happy.

Indeed, the cow gave plenty of good milk, enough for the worker and his wife to drink and to sell, and in this way, provide the necessities of life.

In the evenings, the worker and his wife would often sit together at their door, thinking about the Monster. They tried to imagine what the answers might be. But as they had no clue what sort of questions the Monster would ask, they would always end their sessions with a sigh and go to bed with troubled hearts. Day by day, the end of the three years grew closer and closer.

One evening, a handsome youth came up to them.

"Good evening!" he said. "I am so tired, and it is getting dark. If you please, may I spend the night under your roof?"

"Of course you may, only tonight you must know that something terrible is going to happen to us! Three years ago, we took a cow from a Monster. He told us we could keep the cow for three years, but at the end of that time he could come and ask us some questions. If we answer those questions correctly, then the cow will be ours to keep, but if we can't then we will become the Monster's prisoners forever. So if you stay with us tonight, be careful that no harm comes to you!"

"I see," said the youth. "Well, if it is all right with you, I'd just as soon stay the night." And so he did.

Exactly at midnight, a loud knock was heard at the door.

"Who's there?"

"It is I, the Monster! Three years have passed. The time has come to answer my questions!"

"We'll never be able to answer them!" wailed the poor worker and his wife, clutching at each other's shoulders.

Suddenly, the youth stepped toward the door. He said to them, "Don't worry, I'll answer for you."

"I'm here, waiting!" growled the Monster outside.

"And I'm here also," calmly answered the youth behind the door.

"Very well, then," said the monster. "Where are you from?"

"I'm from the other side of the sea."

"How did you get here?"

"Riding a lame flea!"

"Then the sea must have been very small?"

"Not at all. Even an eagle couldn't fly across it!"

"Then that eagle must have been a fledgling?"

"Not at all. The shadow of his wings would cover a whole city!"

"Then the city must have been very small?"

"Not at all. A hare couldn't run from one end of it to the other."

The Monster was speechless. It didn't know what other questions to ask. He stood there silently at the door for some time, then disappeared into the darkness.

The poor worker and his wife were overjoyed. They and the youth celebrated until dawn.

When dawn was breaking, the youth said it was time for him to take his leave.

"Oh, no, we can't allow you to go!" cried the couple. "You saved our lives. Tell us what we can do to thank you." "You don't have to thank me," replied the youth. "I must be on my way." "At least tell us who you are!" begged the worker.

"If you must know," said the youth, "A kindness is never lost, even if you throw it into the water. I am that little talking fish that you threw back into the sea!"

Having said these words, he vanished.

Tension In Udu As Oghior Community Drags Monarch For Tagging Them Strangers, Demands Apology
May 16, 2021 Admin
Following the alleged classification of the people of Oghior as strangers by the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. the Oghior Development Movement, ODM has perfected plans to drag the Ovie of Udu Kingdom to court, demanding apology from the monarch
Acoording to a statement made signed by Evang. Robinson Onojighofia, National Vice President and Comrade Markson Koyaya, National Secretary of the Oghior Development Movement confirmed the intentions of several families in Oghior to file their respective cases in court against the Monarch us soon as the courts are open for business.
According to the group. the actions and utterances credited to the Udu Monarch amounted to racism of the highest order, maintaining that except the Monarch apologize to the people of Oghior for the assault on them, the community will have no option but to apply for a separate kingdom shortly.
The group added that many families in Oghior including families from the Fifia quarters, Edjame quarters, Ugen quarters and others have hired lawyers to file separate cases in court to determine their true status and who indigenes and strangers are in Udu, adding that the Ovie, who is harassing others with a superiority complex may have to be stripped naked with facts they know about him and history of Udu as they affect his own Aladja village which would be brought to public scrutiny in court.
“We of the Oghior Development Movement are not taking the declaration by the Ovie of Udu Kingdom lightly. To drive home our protest, we hereby call on all Oghior sons and daughters who took chieftaincy titles from the said Ovie of Udu Kingdom, whom we now classify ase of Aladja to renounce those titles and dump them at his feet. We shall prove to the monarch that Oghior are true sons of Udu and have never laid claim to any other ancestry than mother Udu.
“The people of Aladja S Community had better called their son to order to otherwise, when the war starts, nobody should say we are insulting their big man. We are in possession of hard core facts capable changing the narratives.
We have been calm in the interest of one Udu but the music the monarch is dancing to can only provoke reactions capable of breaching the peace and making mockery of our shared heritages.
“We are worried that sensible Udu leaders are silent in the midst of the provocative utterances from the monarch. We shall meet in Court to determine the true Udu history. Nobody can shave our heads in our absence for we too, have the capacity to tell our own story and write what we know about ourselves and the rest of Udu.
Facts shall recognize him as their king meet facts in court and the weightier one will carry the day. The only thing that will stop our impending actions is a public apology from the monarch. We are no strangers and whoever thinks otherwise will have the community to contend with.
“For the monarch to refer to Oghior and some Communities in Udu LGA as strangers. Udu is no longer one, (No Udu Ovo). These are the kind of actions he took that prolonged the crisis “We of the Oghior between Aladja and Ogbe -Ijaw later Esaba, Barr Delekpe should go and restore the two Udu Communities of Ayama and Epame from our neighbours before calling other people strangers in their own land
“The Government of Delta State should hold the ‘Ovie of Aladja’ responsible if any crisis breaks out in Udu. Since Udu is no longer one, we cannot refer to him as Ovie of Udu but Ovie of Aladja Oghior Community and Aladja are not sharing boundaries, we wonder how the Aladja king’s father has land in Oghior Community that he now want to annex. Oghior is waiting for him to come and implement the rubbish he declared without recourse to the recommendations of the panel he set up.
“We make bold to say that a stranger cannot prostrate to another stranger. If by virtue of migration he now classifies Oghior as strangers, then, he and Aladja community who are products of migration are also strangers because. even Mama Udu migrated. from Benin as all historical accounts have confirmed.
Therefore, it is only indigenes of his Aladja village who should and can bow to him. Like our brother, Chief Hon Wisdom Ghaghara remarked recently, we cannot be provoked by Barr. E.B.O Delekpe to go war Ukpiovwin brothers.
Whatever land dispute we have with Ukpiovwin, true sons and daughters know the truth, and in time, the truth shall prevail. The monarch had better apologize now or else, the dance shall be and rough in the weird coming weeks, months and years. declared. “the group declared.

Filmmaking is a Visual Version as Writing-

When you think about it, writing is a lot like filmmaking.
First, you need to have an idea of what you want your movie to be about so you know what you need to shoot. Just like that, you need to have an idea of what your writing about so you know what to research that will help you write about your topic.
Next, you need to go out and shoot the material you will use for your film. Getting the scenes that you need is crucial because without them, you have no movie and no plot line. Same goes for writing. When you are writing a paper, having the appropriate evidence and support from different sources is important to make a strong paper. If you don’t find the elements that you need to support your claim,
your paper will be weak and have a lack of others opinion and statics.
Finally, you start to edit. When it comes the editing, picking the best scenes that will portray your idea and theme of the film is crucial. You need to put together the right scenes that support your idea and represents the film as a whole. In a paper, you need to choose the different statements and facts that best explain your thesis without being broad. It helps you be precise to the point.
Both projects both have outcome that contains something that has been created, from research, opinions, and imagination.
Each project is something that can be looked at and can be learned from.
