Kehinde A.Adekanmi set to doll out Free Jamb to Candidates in Ikale Land.
In his tweet, he announced "As part of my educational interventions, aimed at encouraging and supporting our youths in their pursuit of economic and social progress, I will be distributing FREE JAMB forms to one thousand (1,000) prospective JAMB candidates in Ikale Land, for the 2024 JAMB examination". The beneficiaries will be drawn from Irele and Okitipupa Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

Eligible candidates from Irele and Okitipupa Local Government Area are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

He emphasized that prospective candidates are also advised to keep a tab on his social media accounts as the modalities for selection will be released therein.

As announced by JAMB, the registration for the 2024 examination has been scheduled to commence on Monday January 15, 2024 and end on February 26, 2024. The examination itself will take place between April 19, 2024 and April 29, 2024.

I wish the prospective beneficiaries the very best of luck in the selection and ultimately in the examination.

Lawyer, OLAROTIMI OMOMUWASAN, hospitalized after being assaulted by Road Safety Officers.

Some months after a trigger-happy police officer shot and killed a lawyer in Lagos State, another lawyer, Olarotimi Omomuwasan, Esq. has suffered serious assault in the hands of Road Safety Officers along Lagos/Benin expressway way, Ogbere community, Ogun State.

The incident occurred in the evening of Thursday, 9th November, 2023 while the lawyer was returning from the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, FCID, Alagbon, Lagos State to lay credence to one of his client’s pending petition.

It was gathered that, while the lawyer’s vehicle was approaching a Road Safety checkpoint where a Road Safety Vehicle with Number Plate 953RS was parked at Ogbere Community, the lawyer was being flagged down by a Road Safety officer, whose name was later identified as K. O. Agede, wielding a big stick in his hands. Upon noticing an oncoming heavily loaded truck in high speed honking behind him, the lawyer attempted to quickly manuever his way out of the road to safely park and to avoid an imminent collusion from back by the truck. It was at that point that one of the road safety officers, whose name was identified as K. O. Agede, used the big stick in his hands to hit the windscreen as well as the right side mirror of the lawyer’s vehicle and caused him bodily harm on his right hand.

Even while in serious pains, the lawyer alighted from the vehicle in an effort to intimate the road officers of the damage their actions had caused after using stick to cause the degree of assault and damage to his vehicle which action falls below the required professional standard expected of a road safety officer, but in a commando style, K. O. Agede and his other colleagues did not waste time to rush at the lawyer and beat him to a palp until he was unconscious and rescued by the other passengers in the lawyers vehicle and rushed him to the Generator Hospital in Ogbere Community, Ijebu-East Local Government, Ogun State where he’s currently undergoing treatment.

The lawyer described how he had been in the grip of fear for his life inside the hospital following an officer’s threat that he would be trailed to Okitipupa where he resides in Ondo State and killed if he dared to make any complaint about what happened.

Tinubu Writes National Assembly to Confirm 17 Fresh Appointments

President Bola Tinubu has sought the confirmation of the chairman and governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) at the House of Representatives.

In a letter read by the Deputy Speaker, Ben Kalu, on the plenary floor on Tuesday, October 10, Tinubu said his request was in line with Section 2(2) of the NDDC (Establishment etc.) Act.

100 Days In Office: Prince Olujimi Adekanle Commends Ondo South Senator, Jimoh Ibrahim CFR, OFR

Canadian based investigative journalist, Prince Olujimi Adekanle, has commended Senator Jimoh Ibrahim for quality Representation at the National Assembly.

Adekanle, appreciate the lawmaker for his developmental impact across the Ondo South senatorial district, described his election and subsequent inauguration for the 10th Assembly as a blessing to Ondo South.

Recall Senator Jimoh Ibrahim recently announced the sum of N30M mega bulk to 100 youths to celebrate 100 Days in the Senate.

Police arrest photographer with human part in Ondo.

The Ondo State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the arrest of a man, Franklin Akinyosoye, for being in possession of a human skull in Ondo town, Ondo State.

The suspect, who is a photographer, was said to have been arrested in the Elewuro area of the community.

He was said to have claimed ownership of the human skull.

According to police, Akinrosoye put the skull in a bag and kept it in a corner on the premises of the house but his landlord discovered the bag and reported the matter at a police station, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami who confirmed the incident, said the suspect confessed to having collected the human part from a herbalist in Osun State.

The PPRO said, “One Franklin Akinyosuyi, male, 26 years who claimed to be a photographer and own a boutique in Ondo town was challenged by his landlord for keeping a bag in a corner of the compound.
” The landlord became suspicious and asked the young man to open the bag, and when he did, a human skull was found in the bag, thereafter he was arrested, he claimed it was given to him by a native doctor in Osun State to enhance his business.”
Odunlami said the command had begun Investigation into the matter and confirmed that the suspect was in police custody.

Meanwhile, a source in the area said it was a human head that was discovered in a black sack inside the suspect’s compound by some teenagers who are children of the landlord. The source narrated that the children later raised the alarm before the matter was reported by their father at the station.

The source said, “When a search operation was conducted by the police in the apartment of the suspect, several human parts and other items suspected to be charms and human blood were also discovered in the apartment by the police.”

“When interrogated by the police at the station, the suspect exonerated the landlord and claimed the ownership of all the items found in his possession.

“He further explained that he brought all the items from his herbalist who resides in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area of Osun State."
