Young John is currently the most popular new Afrobeats Music Artist in 2024, yet he's not getting his flowers! 💔

He recently cried out about feeling excluded from music-related conversations because he started as a music producer. Young John became a full-time producer for other artists and people only see him that way. After his transition from producer to artist, fans barely notice or acknowledge him. But he has promised the next few years will determine his position in the Entertainment Space.

Young John during an Interview with Adesope revealed why he started singing:

"I was producing music for fun. When I was still very young I used to rap with my brothers. Sometimes we needed beats to do rap-battles and one of my friends intruduced me to fruity loops I practiced with it and it was just for fun.

I came to Lagos after my brothers left I was sleeping in this studio then “Hit Factory Studio,” Olamide usually visits this Hit Factory Studio to record his songs. When he left Coded Tunes, I recorded his debut album “First of all” with Pheelz. (Fast forward...)

I lost my mom in 2018, when this happened my energy and everything drained up. I started slowing down with producing beats and music. I took a step back. After 2 years I discovered that I had lots of songs in my system. My friend's insisted I released the song that they were dope songs. So I released one song and people loved it. I wasn't taking it seriously at the time until I met my manager Iseoma. While she was trying to encourage me to start releasing the songs I wasn't feeling them, I was kinda OK being a producer. She dragged me back to Nigeria. After everything we released “DADA.” Davido liked the song and we did a remix after that remix everything turned up."

He gave me my first collaboration in 2018 (Funke), came to surprise me at my show same 2018, gave me another collab in 2022 (billing) and now I am winning and he is still there cheering ... I told him few weeks ago I bought his type of car and his face lit up, you could literally see the happiness on his face as he congratulated me, he is just that guy that is keen on others growing
