Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was inaugurated as a member of the ECOWAS Parliament at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's engagement with the regional bloc.

Tragedy: Aba Student D!es After Head Injury During Gunmen Attack In Abia |

An 18-year-old student of Evangel Seminary School, Ovom, Aba, Master Chikwere Edmond Nkemakolam, has tragically passed away after suffering a fatal head injury during a gunmen attack last week.

ABN TV gathered that Chikwere was returning from school when he was caught in the crossfire between gunmen and police officers at Opobo Junction. In the chaos, he fell and hit his head on the ground.

Rushed to a nearby hospital, the young student's life hung in the balance. However, the hospital reportedly demanded a deposit before commencing treatment, leaving his mother in a desperate race against time to raise the funds.

Sadly, before the necessary funds could be secured, Chikwere succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family, friends, and community in mourning.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the devastating consequences of violence and the need for urgent medical attention in emergency situations.

VIDEO: Two Soldiers K^lled by Gunmen In Abia | #AbnTv Two soldiers were k^lled at Obikabia junction in Aba, Abia State, by over 15 masked gunmen who also set their patrol van on fire. A trending video shows the assailants shooting sporadically before setting the military van ablaze. ABN TV reports that a soldier later emerged, with a voice accompanying the video lamenting that “it’s like he is the only one that survived; others have been k^lled.” The armed men operated with an SUV jeep and a Sienna. The Abia State Police Command and the Military have not spoken on the reported incident as of the time of filing this report. South-East is under lockdown following the declaration of sit-at-home by Biafra agitators in honour of those who died during the Civil war. Our correspondents across the five states report that the majority of the residents are indoors for fear of being attacked by non-state actors.
