The Governor, Dr Alex Otti has restated his administrations commitments in ensuring even development of all sectors of the state economy.

Governor Otti who stated this when he received the executive of Dr Alex Otti Support Group at Government House Umuahia, assured Abians of better days ahead.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba disclosed that cost of properties are fast appreciating especially in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state owing to road infrastructures, light-up projects, security and ease of doing business.

The state Chief Executive while describing the group as a formidable force to reckon with, also commended them for their support during and after the elections, urging them to sustain the tempo.

In his address, the executive secretary of Dr Alex Otti Support Group, Mr Chile M.I, lauded Governor Otti for his infrastructural strides across the state, passion for excellence, sincerity of purpose, administrative acumen and solicited partnership with government to enable them function effectively.

In a vote of thanks, Chief Christopher Okonkwo thanked the Governor for keeping to his campaign promises and prayed God to continue to give him the wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of the state effectively.

The meeting which attracted top government functionaries featured the installation of the Governor’s representative as the Chief Patron of the group and presentation of samples of educational materials to be distributed to schools across the state by the group.

Police in Abia Parades alleged criminal suspects

Police in Abia state have paraded suspects in connection with armed robbery, kidnapping, and vandalism of government property.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie represented by the command Public Relations officer ASP Maureen Chinaka said the Ndiegoro Divisional Police Headquarters, Aba apprehended a dismissed police officer, Francis William (male), (34) while attempting to steal an electricity transformer owned by Aba Power Company at National High School Port-Harcourt Road Aba.

According to her, the suspect was found dressed in police camouflage attire, and in possession of a fake police warrant card, adding that the suspect was arrested, and the stolen property was recovered.

The Police Public Relations officer disclosed that on credible intelligence regarding criminal activities at Ehere Secondary School, Aba, police detectives conducted a cordon, search, and arrested suspects involved in the illegal drug trade.
The suspects include Kelechi Kalu (25), Nnanna Nwogu (35), Chika Ugochukwu (33), Ndubuisi Chikere (38), Check Bowel (45), Ugochukwu Monday (20), Grace Chika (27) and, Owe Mary (20).

She reiterated the commands
commitment to implementing effective administrative and operational strategic initiatives to ensure improved service delivery.

ASP Chilaka noted that from July to September 2023, the command has achieved significant milestones in curtailing incidents of armed robbery, kidnapping, and vandalism of government property.

On the recovered items, the police spokesperson revealed that fi****ms of different specifications, vehicles, railway sleepers, and illicit drugs, among others were recovered, maintaining that some kidnap victims and trafficked children were also rescued.

One of the suspects who spoke with newsmen denied his involvement in the stolen vehicle but rather claimed that he bought the vehicle legitimately from the owner.

A man and his wife
never fought for 25 years
of their marriage.
