Invitation to Participate in the 9th Annual Golden Generation Competition - Young Government Initiatives Program

We are thrilled to invite you to the 9th Annual Golden Generation Competition with special dimension, featuring the groundbreaking Young Government Initiatives Programme. Hosted by the Golden Generation Community Development Club, this event aims to identify through the competition and empower young leaders in our community. It is scheduled as follows:

Date : December 2, 10:00 AM

Venue: ELITE COMPUTER TECH. CBT CENTER, NO. 13, TOLA STREET, YIDI AGUNPOPO AREA, OYO.

How to Participate:

Option 1: Register Online - Visit https://goldengeneration.pythonanywhere.com/ to register each candidate from SS1 to SS3.

OR

Option 2: On-site Selection - If online registration is not feasible, schools can select and bring 10 outstanding students from SS1 to SS3 to the venue for the selection process.

The selection will include quizzes( English, Mathematics and General Studies ), and interviews to assess leadership potentials. Selected students will undergo training, including a Digital Skills Programme, and serve as Youth Leaders for one to two years.

For schools opting for on-site selection, kindly forward the names of selected students to [email protected] or 07062314302 along with the phone number of the school administrator for further details.

Oriki Oyo (Eulogy of Oyo)

Oyo is an ancient town in Oyo State, South-Western Nigeria. It was founded as the capital of the Oyo Kingdom in the 1830s and known to its people as ‘New Oyo’ (Ọyọ Atiba) to distinguish it from the former capital to the north, ‘Old Oyo’ (Ọyọ-Ile) which was deserted as a result of rumours of war. Its inhabitants are mostly of the Yoruba people, and its ruler is the imperial majesty Alaafin of Oyo.

The major market in the city is Akesan or Àkèsán market, also called Oja Oba (King’s market) or Akesan Baale Oja (Chief of market), it’s very close to the Alaafin’s Palace, which is opened on a daily basis unlike the other marketplaces, such as Ajegunle market, Irepodun market, Omo-Oba market, Iware which is opened for a five-day interval, and Sabo market (five days).
