BIAFRA POUNDS

On this day 29/1 /1968, the Biafran Pounds were introduced. It was the currency of the defunct Republic of Biafra between 1968 and 1970.

The first notes to be introduced were denominated in 5 shillings and £1. A series of coins was issued in 1969; 3 pence, 6 pence, 1 shilling and 2½ shilling coins were minted, all made of aluminium.

The most common note is the 1968 and 1969 1 pound notes, with the £10 note and all coins being rare.

Dear Biafrans,

As Biafrans, we can avoid these attacks by supporting our capable Eastern Security Network (ESN) in any way we can, such as by donating on the official IPOB website, IPOB.org .

That fund you may use to bury your loved ones in the coming days during these Fulani planned attacks. Use a portion of it now to support ESN to avoid regrets. A stitch in time saves nine. Ndewo nu.

What MNK saw ten years ago and cried is what the Igbo elders and rulers are just seeing today 10/11/2021. What a pity!!!

I thought they said "What an elder sit down and saw, a child if climb an iroko tree cannot see it. What is happening to Igbo elders?

There is an adage which also said that "Not every word of an old man should be taken serious because foolish people also grow old. Does it mean our elders are foolish? Let me not accept that yet.

I seriously believe that whatever that has been covering their eyes will grow wings and fly today, because the humiliation today is too much from the federal high court Abuja.

An Emir or an ordinary ful*ni elder cannot be treated or humiliated like Igbo elders today in the federal high court Abuja. It is a pity. But let's see their action before this week ends.

On the 24th day of the 10th month in the year 2021. A black African man from the Igbo race, called Mazi Uba Acho discovered a Lake in Leicester East Midlands of England. This newly discovered Lake by Uba Acho shall be called Iyi Ojemba.

Just as Mungo Park discovered river Niger in Nigeria. A river Ogbaru, Anam and Onitsha people and ancestors had been fishing in and swimming in long before the great great grand father of Mungo Park was born. But hey! Mungo Park travelled over six thousand miles from Scotland in 1795 and discovered it.

Just as David Livingstone travelled thousands of miles in 1855 to discover Zambezi river in Zambia and Zimbabwe also discovered a waterfall which he named Victoria-falls. Of course all the people, tribes and communities in Zimbabwe and Zambia, who have been hunting, farming, rearing their herds in that area for centuries were all blind they couldn’t see such water bodies. Until a Scotish man came from Britain to discover it.

And up till today these are still in our African school curriculum, still being taught our children. And you wonder why we have adults and leaders who take no pride in being African. And what you have no pride in, you can’t value, what you don’t value, you can’t cherish, what you don’t cherish, you can’t preserve nor develop.

So on this day, Mazi Uba Acho have discovered this Lake and named it Iyi Ojemba. Put it on record, teach it to your children.
