The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the registration of applicants for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by one week from February 15.

The Head of Public Affairs and Protocol JAMB Dr Fabian Benjamin made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the board, the sale of ePINs would end on Monday February 20, 2023, while the UTME registration ends on February 22, 2023.

In line with the Board’s 2023 Schedule of Activities, the closing date for the sale of the ePINs and the 2023 UTME application documents was slated for Tuesday, 14th February, 2023.

The board said at the close of the sale of ePINs on Tuesday, 14th February, 2023, 1,527,068 candidates had successfully registered for the 2023 UTME exercise inclusive of the 168,748, who indicated their interest to take the Mock-UTME.

It should also be noted that the Board, based on its projections, had expanded its capacity to register up to a hundred thousand candidates per day. With this, it was possible to register all desiring candidates within the space of a few days.

However, less than fifty thousand candidates were turning up for registration which is less than the installed registration capacity. Surprisingly, in the last two days before the closing date, the pace picked up remarkably with over a hundred thousand candidates registering on a daily basis.

Furthermore, the Board, as a responsive and proactive agency, took cognisance of the reports from across the country indicating some difficulties being faced by many Nigerians in using their electronic channels to purchase the ePINs or obtain cash readily within the stipulated period.

It has, as a consequence, granted this extension to ensure that all candidates who desire to register for the 2023 UTME are given the opportunity to do so especially when the extant challenges are not of their own making,” the statement added.

This is to inform all the prospective applicants intending to transfer their studentship to Osun State University that the University has commenced the sales of Inter University Transfer Form for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

ELIGIBILITY

Any candidate applying for transfer of studentship to Osun State University must be a current student of the University from which he seeks transfer. Any intending transferee whose studentship has lapsed in his/her former university will not be considered for transfer to Osun State University.
Any student willing to transfer from other public and private University to Osun State University must transfer into the same course as he/she is studying or any other course, provided he/she satisfies the requirement.
The applicant must have minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5/5.00 as at last session in his/her present University.
The duration for inter-University transfer must fall within the season of admission process by Osun State University as stipulated in the University regulations.
The applicant must meet the University and programme specific admission requirements as contained in the University regulations. To be specific, the applicant must possess the minimum entry O’ Level requirements and the UTME score must not be lower than the cut-off mark for Osun State University for the same Course during the year of his/her admission.
Candidates expelled or withdrawn from other universities based on academic record or disciplinary cases shall not be considered for transfer to Osun State University. Any applicant who fails to process his/her academic transcript directly from Academic Affairs Unit to Osun State University will not be considered (Student’s copy of academic transcript is not acceptable, please)
Any applicant who fails to submit sworn Court Affidavit on his/her criminal and disciplinary status in the present University will not be considered.
At any stage, if irregularity is discovered in the papers presented by the student, such student(s) shall be made to face the Students Disciplinary Panel and appropriate punishment will be applied.
Transferees can only be admitted to 200 level, the Osun State University will accept transferees to 200 Level for all 4-year Courses and to 300 Level for Courses above 4-year duration. However, transfer into such programmes will depend on the availability of space.
Please note that UNIOSUN will not accept Transferred candidates into Law (LLB), Common and Islamic Law (LLB), Nursing (B N Sc) and MBBS programmes this academic session.

The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has suspended its nationwide strike for three months.

National President of NAAT, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma, who addressed journalists in Abuja, on Thursday, said the decision was taken at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

The NAAT President said the Union had secured commitments and resolutions on some of its demands, even as it rejected the ‘No work, No pay’ policy of the federal government.

He listed commitments secured from the federal government to include the release of enabling circulars on CONTISS 14 and 15, agreements on payment of arrears of minimum wage/consequential adjustments, payment of occupational hazard allowance, and implementation of responsibility allowance, among others.

He said: “Following this understanding with Government, NAAT as a democratic union directed all its branches to conduct a referendum on whether to suspend or continue the strike action. NEC of NAAT met and considered the results from branches hence the decision to suspend the strike effective, Thursday 25th August 2022.

“The result of the referendum from branches showed that 80.56 per cent voted in favour of a suspension of the strike while 19.44 per cent voted for the continuation of the strike action.

“Subsequently, NEC came to the conclusion that the demands of NAAT were substantially being addressed. Consequent to the above result, calls and appeals by well-meaning Nigerians, students, parents and other critical stakeholders, the NEC in session, in the interest of the Nation unanimously resolved to suspend the ongoing strike action for three months to enable the government to address all the issues at stake, effective from midnight of Friday, 26th August 2022.

“By this development, all NAAT members in tertiary institutions are directed to resume work with effect from the date stated above. NAAT, therefore, requested that students especially final year project students/researchers with ongoing research

This is to inform all candidates who have applied for admission into the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna for the 2022/2023 academic session that the Registration/University’s Pre-Admission Screening Exercise (UPASE) will commence on Monday, 22nd August 2022 and end midnight of Sunday, 9th October 2022.

ELIGIBILITY
(i) Only UTME and DE candidates who selected the Federal University of Technology, Minna as the first choice is eligible for the screening exercise.

(ii) UTME Candidates MUST have scored NOT LESS than the indicated minimum scores for various Schools/Courses/Programmes in the 2022 UTME as shown below:
(iii) Candidates MUST meet the minimum UTME scores for their chosen courses and have the right UTME subject combinations as prescribed in the JAMB Brochure.

(iv) However, candidates who do not meet any of the above requirements will be allowed to change to any other course whose requirements are met by the candidates. The change of course will attract a processing fee of N2,000 only.

(v) All candidates must possess a minimum of five ‘O’ Level credits including Mathematics and English Language in subjects relevant to their proposed courses at not more than two sittings. In addition, Direct Entry candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit at National Diploma and/or Higher National Diploma level(s) or Merit at NCE level.

i. Please NOTE that ONLY Candidates who are of Lagos State Origin are eligible for screening. Candidates in this category are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) BEFORE being considered for admission,

ii. Old applicants for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 academic sessions that have not been offered admission will only revalidate their indigenship Clearance Certificates online at www.lasu.edu.ng without making any payment.


iii. All applicants must observe Covid-19 protocol; No entry without Face mask, Physical distancing, Provision of hand sanitizer and Test of body temperature at the entrance of each hall.
