Just in: Setting the Record Straight: Female Police ADC Not Rejected by Nigeria's VP's Wife!
It is widely known that individuals holding certain positions or offices are entitled to security protection.
Assigning security details or aides to VIPs follows specific procedures that vary across security agencies. However, a basic process involves selecting at least three competent personnel and scrutinizing their service records. The most suitable candidate is then presented to the VVIP/VIP for approval, and upon acceptance, the personnel is officially assigned to the individual.
It's worth noting that HE Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President, is not new to the corridors of power. She served as the governor's wife for eight years, during which she worked with an ADC.
At the inauguration last week, the same ADC who worked with her in Borno as the governor's wife was present. Those spreading the news of her alleged rejection may not have all the facts.if a different ADC was assigned to her then it is assumed going by the rules and standard procedure she would have prior knowledge and the issue of rejection won’t even arise
The Shettima family is known for maintaining long-term relationships with their staff and workers. For example, a family driver who was with HE Kashim Shettima when he became a senior officer in the bank is still working for the family, and they have several other longstanding employees. When the Vice President assumed office, he retained the security details that served him when he was Governor. Given this track record, it's unlikely that his wife would act differently.
It's important to note that the Vice President's wife has always prioritized following due process in her official dealings, including assigning security personnel to VIPs and VVIPs. It is crucial to maintain standard procedures in all cases to avoid any lapses in security.
