Junior Pope: Late Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Frederick buried in Akwa Ibom [Photos]

The late Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, 24, has been laid to rest in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Monday.

Frederick was among the five film practitioners, including Junior Pope, who died when their boat capsized on the River Niger last Wednesday.

Recall that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial after she was said to have been buried by the riverbank.

Following the governor's directive, her body was exhumed on Sunday, April 14.

A candle-light procession was also said to have been held in her honour.

A Facebook user, Ubong David, who shared pictures from the burial on Monday wrote, "Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.

"The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma, and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey; Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh; SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor; Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee, Nollywood actress, Eve Esin, the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathisers

The igbos like other ethnic groups in West Africa, are shrouded in myth.

The native Igbo people worship different deities (alusi), such deities could be summoned in times of needs,or to oversee a particular diplomatic mission, to guide warriors during wars etc.

1)Chukwu or Chineke : This is the supreme being of Igbo spirituality. In the Igbo pantheon, Chukwu is the source of all other Igbo deities and is responsible for assigning them their different tasks. The Igbo people believe that all things come from Chukwu, who brings the rain necessary for plants to grow and controls everything on Earth and the spiritual world. They believe Chukwu to be an undefinable omnipotent and omnipresent supreme deity that encompasses everything in space and space itself

2)Ala: Some call her Ani,Ana or Ali depending on their dialect, Ala is the most respected God in Igboland,she is regarded as the Mother of the Igbo Pantheon.

Ala is the goddess of the earth, which means she controls virtually everything on earth, she controls the land and everything in it, she's the sacredness of creation. She is known to be the wife of Amadioha, another powerful God that commands huge respect among the igbos, Ala's symbol is either python or crescent Moon.

The Igbos adores Ala cause she's said to be the kindest amongst the gods.

In Igbo land, there are a couple of mysteries that lies beneath the sun,

One of such is the separation between two rivers within a spot.

One of such water bodies is Oguta Lake in Imo State.

The Oguta lake is home to two different angry rivers who would never mix together.

The Igbo people believes that water bodies are humans who reincarnated into water spirits.

According to the Igbo legend passed on from one generation to the other, .

These two rivers that would never mix together used to be a human couple.

Orashi being the husband and Ogbuide being the wife.

Their love soon turned sour and they became sworn ene.mies.

They both reincarnated into two separate rivers.

Some people believe that if you visit the lake at midnight, you would hear the couple grumbling.

The two rivers are easily distinguished by their colours,

Orashi is brownish in colour while Ogbuide is greenish in colour.

There have been claims of people trying to mix the two water in a cup, but they eventually splits and sometimes even breaks the cup.

There's also claims that anyone who drinks the both water has signed for sui.cide.
