BREAKING: Osimhen banned from national team until he apologises

Nigerian Striker, Victor Osimhen Reportedly Banned From Playing For Nigeria Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation has reportedly banned Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen and declared its intention to use the Osimhen case as a deterrent to prevent other players from publicly criticising or disparaging national football heroes and legends.

According to a member of the NFF board, Osimhen would be used as an example to prevent others from doing the same in future.

According to the source, "He (Victor Osimhen) crossed the line with his outburst even when Finidi called him to explain he still didn’t deem it fit to retract his statements. We won’t condone that and after the Salah break, we will sit on the issue. I can tell you he won’t be in the team until he says sorry for his actions”, he concluded.

The Legendary Akunwafor Ezigbo Obiligbo was born on August 10, 1904 in Nteje, present day Oyi LGA, Anambra state.

Considered the father of Igbo highlife, He is one of the greatest exponents of Egwu Ekpili, a master of the native ubo aka.

Akunwafor was his traditional ozo chieftency title.

He started out as a farmer, but had a dream one night in 1934 when he was 30 years old which led to the beginning of his music career.

His songs are strongly recommended for anyone interested in Igbo traditional music.

Chief Obiligbo began performing as one of many Traditional musicians in Nteje and mostly at funerals, weddings and other Traditional ceremonies before his popularity grew exponentially driven by his powerful lyrics which consists of deep Igbo Proverbs and some drops of praise singing.

He left a huge body of work, mostly on the Gramophone Record format, but many of his greatest works have been preserved, especially those recorded on the pioneering Nigerphone Record label at Onitsha owned by the famous businessman of the early 20th century- C.T. Onyekwelu. This was the most advanced (if not the only) facility available in Igboland at the time i.e. the 30’s-50’s and was the forebear to subsequent recording studios/companies like Rogers All Stars and Tabansi Records.

Though he may not be a household name for the younger generation, his importance to the older generation cannot be over emphasized.

Former Nigerian Head of State, Major General Yakubu Gowon was a very huge fan of his, he once gave him a car gift of 504 Peugeot after watching him perform.

Chief Akunwafor Ezigbo Obiligbo is the grandfather of the present-day highlife music stars, Akunwafor and okpuozor popularly known as Umu Obiligbo.
Some of his hit tracks include Igba ndi eze , Eze Idigo, Egwu Gowon, ogwugwu akwa, Njenje Amaka Mma e.t.c.

Anita Okoye, the ex-wife of popular singer, Paul Okoye has stated that money cannot buy true love, good health and fulfilment.

This came less than a month after her ex-husband married a younger woman, Ivy Ifeoma, in a low-key traditional ceremony in her hometown of Igbere, Abia State.

In a recent Instagram post, the mother of three who recently bagged her Master’s degree, shared a video of herself and her children, which she described as good times.

In her caption, she listed qualities that can’t be bought with money while emphasizing the source of one’s greatest wealth in life.

DMGS Collapsed Building: Governor Soludo Visits Scene, As Rescue Operation Intensifies.

The Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo earlier today visited the scene of collapsed five storey building at DMGS Onitsha.

Speaking during the visitation, Governor Charles Soludo through Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim said, we are putting up everything we have, ministry of works, ministry of health, the emergency and the entire government officials were present on rescue mission.

Dr. Ibezim assured that, they will investigate the cause of the incident and make recommendations on how to prevent future occurrence.
He thanked all first responders and those that joined the rescue efforts.

Breaking News: House of Representatives Passes Bill to Create New State in South-East.

The House of Representatives, on Thursday, passed a bill seeking to establish a new state in the southeastern region known as Orlu State.

The bill, which passed its first reading, was sponsored by Ikeagwuonu Ugochinyere (Ideato North South, Imo State), along with other co-sponsoring lawmakers.

According to the draft bill, the creation of Orlu State will amend the 1999 Constitution, increasing the number of states in Nigeria from 36 to 37.

The new state, with Orlu as its capital city, will be created from portions of Imo, Abia, and Anambra states.

The bill seeks to amend the 1999 Constitution by adding a new paragraph to include 28 local government areas.

These areas are Orlu, Orsu, Oru West, Oru East, Ideato North, Ideato South, Njaba, Nkwerre, Nwangele, Isu, Oguta, Ohaji Egbema, Onuimo, Ihiala, Uga, Uli, Ozubulu, Akokwa, Arondizuogu, Umuchu, Umunze, Umuaku, New Ideato North, Nwabosi West, Nwabosi East, Owerre Nkworji, Alaoma, Amaifeke, and Owerrebiri Umuowa.

Ugochinyere, the primary sponsor of the bill, urged his fellow members of the National Assembly to back the legislation to ensure its successful passage during the second reading.

He suggested that the establishment of Orlu State could result in the formation of Ideato as a senatorial district.

It’s worth mentioning that unlike other geopolitical zones in Nigeria, which have a minimum of six states, the South-East only has five.

He was supposed to travel to London the next day for an important business trip but he delayed his flight for 4 days just to write a proper song for me.
