This metal màsk was used during sl@very for 3 main reasons:

1) To prevent the ensl@ved from eating fruits such as apples, pineapples, oranges, cashews, bananas, plantains and sugarcanes etc while harvesting them, yet they were made to wòrk consistently in all the plantation farms.

2) To stop the ensl@ved from chanting our African spiritual songs. Not only that those our spiritual and w@r songs affected the slàve masters, it also motivated some ensl@ved to rèbel and fìght back not minding l0sing their lives.

3) To stop ensl@ved form teaching our African local dialects (languages) to their children...whereby destr0yed our dialects, and forced them to learn foreign languages.

Last but not the least, to st@rve enslàved as a punishment in the slàve camps. The màsk prevented them from eating or drinking. Sometimes the slàve màsters would f0rced an apple (a whole 🍎) into the mouths of enslàved before they wore the metal mask on them with the padlocks so that they c0uldn't talk.

So it goes that i and my husband have been married for 19 years now, yes we got to know each other during our university days, he was 23yrs and in 300l i was 19yrs old and in 400l, the following year we got married, and had our first child on 2006,i was in my final year, my mom took care of my son while i joggled between final year exams and clearance for youth service.

By 2008 our second son came, by this time I was preparing for youth service, with the support of my family l scaled through.
By this time my husband had graduated and was awiting youth service,
Things weren't rosy bit at least we were not starving, we could afford rent and some basic necessities. I was more of a business person, so l ventured into it.. You could hardly tell my husband was earning 25k as salary.
We continued like that until 2020 when God decided to bless my husband with a federal government job on our 15year marriage anniversary.
The excitement was out of this world, He was to undergo a 6 months training in Abuja and i gladly provided all that was needed. Not minding we will have to starve for a litte while.

After the training he was transferred to their lagos office, since older brother lives there, he called him and explained to him, his brother is still struggling like us, not minding that he squatted with his brother for 6 months, before he moved to his rented apartment, not wanting to stress him much I took the bills here in delta state and add to the monthly allowance he sent.

As God may have it we live in our own building now, and his elder brother is insisting my husband gives him one of the flat in his compound, reason be that he was nobody when he came to lagos and he accommodated him.
Even my inlaw are in support of this , not knowing that my husband took a loan to build the house and the money is been deducted monthly.

My husband has rented all the apartment and gave his brother 600k to rent an apartment, he squandered the money and he is coming back again for the house issue, the worst part of it I am the one bearing the brunt of my inlaws, because according to them I don't want my husband to help his brother.

You guys should advice me o, cos at this point my brain is running in 360 degrees o,
My first son is in the uni, the second is about writing WAEC and my 2 lasty are still in primary school.

Mind you this my inlaw dont work o
My husband don tire for the matter o.
We need advice please, so as to settle this matter without húrting nobody, cos the way its going, serious prôblem is brewing between 2 brothers, and daughter inlaw 😫😫

I know people who graduated from college at 21 and didn't get a salary job until they were 27.

Step by step, I am actually getting closer to the goal i set for myself 4years ago.

It was actually faster than I could have ever imagined.

When I was cleaning my shop January 2020 after renting a shop to start bag making, I took a pen and paper and wrote what the goals were.

In my mind, kpatakpata e go take 10years and I must surely tick all these boxes.
