Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has finally been brought to justice as he was docked today on charges of financial crimes while in office.

Ironically, this is the very situation he feared most. If only he had chosen to amend his ways, this day might have been avoided.

Ogah, it’s time for accountability.

A powerful lesson for upcoming leaders: no one is above the law.

The Okun people of Kogi state are the Yoruba kogi, they are found in Kogi west in 5 LGAs of Kogi.
1. Kabba/Bunu
2.Ijumu
3. Mopa/Muro
4. Yagba West
5. Yagba East
And some part of lokoja.
Okun land is bounded by Okehi in the East and Adavi and lokoja in the North, Ekiti and kwara in the west.
Okun people has the highest numbers of professors in Nigeria.
The largest city and seat of power is in the Town of Kabba and the Obaro as the traditional title.
The Okun is one of the tribes that made up of Kabba province together with their Egbira counterpart. Kogi state was created for the Okun and the Egbira that made up of Northern kwara state in 1991.

Princess Inikpi is the young virgin woman who offered herself as a sacrifice to be buried alive.

She was a beautiful and intelligent young woman whose selfless sacrifice saved Igala people from being conquered by the Binis.

She was the only daughter of her parents — the Atah Ayegba Oma Idoko and queen Omele.

The Igala Kingdom at about the 15th and 16th century was at loggerheads with the Benin Kingdom, one of their strongest enemies.

The Benin warriors persistently attacked Igala land to the extent of wanting to annihilate the people before Inikpi saved the day.
