Architect Adeshina Tijani Renovates, Equip Alma Mater’s Technical Drawing Lab, Inspires Fellow Alumni To Give Back
In a heartwarming display of philanthropy and community spirit, Architect Adeshina Tijani returned to his alma mater, ASCO Staff Comprehensive School 1, Ajaokuta, Kogi state, to renovate the dilapidated technical drawing lab that had once nurtured his early dreams. The project, which cost over one million naira, was officially commissioned in a ceremony that brought together former students, school staff, and dignitaries.
Arch. Adeshina, reflecting on his journey from being a student at the school to a successful architect, emphasized the importance of giving back. He called on other alumni whom fortune has favored to return and contribute to the development of the institution that shaped their futures.
“We must always remember where we came from and do our part to uplift those who come after us,” he said, while addressing the gathering.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Private Education, who officiated the event.
Hon. Clement lauded Arch. Adeshina for his commendable initiative, stating that “Arch. Adeshina Tijani has set a good pace for others to follow. His commitment to improving the school is a shining example, and I encourage other former students to emulate his generosity.”
Among the dignitaries was Mr. Omachi Sunday Idoko, another proud alumnus, who praised Arch. Adeshina for his dedication and pledged to contribute to the school’s development. “Seeing the transformation here today is truly inspiring. Arch. Shina has done a fantastic job, and I promise to do my part in supporting the school,” Mr. Idoko remarked.
Mrs. Zuleihat Sule, the principal of ASCO Staff Comprehensive School 1, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Arch. Adeshina and the entire 2001 set, noting their consistent support over the years. “The 2001 set has been instrumental in various projects that have significantly improved our school. We deeply appreciate their contributions and the solidarity of the ASCOSSA community,” she said.
The ceremony also featured speeches from Mrs. Raji, the Head of School; Baba Abel, Head of Quality Assurance and a retired FIFA official, all of whom commended Arch. Adeshina’s efforts. “Your generosity and commitment to the school’s development are truly commendable. We thank you for your unwavering support,” they echoed.
In a gesture of continued support, Arch. Adeshina donated an additional 100,000 naira to the school, pledging to return and undertake more projects. “This is just the beginning,” he promised. “I am committed to ensuring that this school remains a beacon of excellence and opportunity for future generations.”
The event concluded with a renewed sense of community and commitment among the alumni and school staff, all inspired by Arch. Adeshina Tijani’s remarkable example of giving back.
