That’s the chant my babies @officialpamilerin & @fiyinfoluwaasenuga and I came up with on set of Mikolo.
Whenever I needed to charge them up (when happy, tire or sleepy), we did our chant and soon enough, everyone on set was chanting with us. The energy was simply contagious!

The day I had a myomectomy aka removal of fibroids surgery while preserving the uterus. Prior to this, I had been bleeding for four months. Not only was I trying to navigate life as a “Woman with the Issue of Blood” (a joke between my closest friends and me, I was anemic. I ate ice like my life depended on it, chewed Ijebu garri like a maniac (the sourer the better) and was this🫰🏽close to eating dust/dry sand/sawdust. No kidding!
The worst part of my experience was how the I was almost getting shamed by some of the medical practitioners who stated how this was my fault because I wasn’t sexually actively and have refused to settle down and have kids because I was trying to be a career woman. My goodness! This rubbish from men who knew nothing about me or my life! People who I’m supposed to trust because they know better! These were the same people spreading misinformation and misconceptions about fibroids!
Well, enough with the bullsh*t!
Me and my girls @omoladun_a @rachealrichy have been working on a documentary @silenttumors to shed more light on the symptoms and treatments, demystifying misconceptions and most importantly, break the silence around fibroids.

SLIENT TUMORS is a documentary that addresses the fibroid epidemic.
Fibroids are non cancerous tumors that develop in the uterus during a woman’s childbearing years (and beyond). 23% of Black Women will be diagnosed of fibroids before the age of 25.
Many of the symptoms are things that have been normalized. Pain should not be normalized.
This documentary is set to shed more light on symptoms and treatments, demystify myths and perceptions, and most importantly break the silence culture.
