In the course of NIMA pet project ex*****on, when we visited these 3 Riverine Communities: Sabokoki, Whulakoji and Bishopkoki under Amuwo-Odofin LGA in Lagos, I was amazed to discover they don't speak English but French as official language.

Our message of Cleaner Oceans through proper disposal of waste resonated with them, but they also have their own message to govt and its agencies. Just watch and listen!

NIMA TO LEAD 2023 WORLD CLEAN UP DAY IN NIGERIA.

The 2023 World Clean-Up Day is coming up this Saturday, Sept 16, 2023 and the Nigeria Maritime Ambassador, Winnie Ogunsakin is set to lead relevant maritime stakeholders and agencies on a 3 Day programs and activities set to mark 2023 world clean up day in Nigeria.

The programme is slated from Thursday - Sat in Lagos. Volunteers and partners are needed! See poster for details!

ANOTHER BIG WIN FOR NIGERIA AS DR MOGO SHINES AT WMU

It was another big win for Nigeria as Dr Mrs Felicia Chinwe Mogo, a Marine Environment expert and Former NIMASA Director shines at the prestigious World Maritime University in Sweden.

Dr Mogo yesterday wrote on her verified WhatsApp status, "It was yet another marvelous experience for me to have rang the bell of the World Maritime University to mark the successful outcome of the PhD defence that I acted as the opponent/critic/external examiner".

"The Nigerian students there were fantastic. They where at the event through out, gave me a gift and escorted me to the hotel".

Congratulations to our own Dr Mogo for still making Nigeria proud in the international community even after retiring from NIMASA 3 year's ago!

Recall that Dr Felicia Mogo was the Mother of the Day at the 2022 AMSAY Conference where she gave out copies of her book on 'Blue Economy' free to some maritime schools and Best Graduated Maritime Students at the occasion.

She's also the Founder of African Marine Environment Sustainability Initiative
(AFMESI), a pan-African, non-governmental organization that has been boosting focus, knowledge and partnerships for cleaner, better protected and sustainably-used marine ecosystems across the African continent.

Just yesterday, the Management of Platforms Communications and the Advisory Council of Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative together with the Crowned Queens, Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr Magdalene Ajani, with other Ministry Directors and officials at FMOT Office in Abuja.

It was a visit to brief the Ministry on the programmes and activities of Platforms Communications and the tremendous impacts made in the maritime sectors over the years, especially in the areas of Youth and Women Empowerment; Maritime Career Mentorship & Development; Succession Plan Program and Gender Advocacy. It's been 9 years of great impacts and next year will be Platforms Communications 10th Anniversary! 10 years of Platformizations in the Nigerian Transport and Maritime sub-sectors! Watch out for more!
