It never seemed to me that filming a movie would be so exhausting, especially when it was the first time around. Since I was exhausted as the short film's director before we even started filming, the cinematographer and Alabi Boluwaji Victor Bavis handled the majority of the directing duties.

One of the persons who helped me remain steadfast in my commitment to producing the short film was "Bavis," as he is affectionately known.

Apart from Bavis, there was no one else who could take over as AD. He was a perfect fit for the position. He took the goals of Black Media Brands Studios personally.

If not Rahmon Balogun (Callouxx), then who else might make a good set photographer/BTS for the short film ?

Well-known for always being present when called upon, Callouxx's selection as the set photographer was approved by the Black Media Brands Studios team.

We had no choice but to give him the credit he deserves because, despite it being his first time functioning as the set photographer, he exceeded our expectations.

We were unsure about our options for the makeup artist (MUA) a few days prior to the short film filming. All of the people we had in mind for it let us down; they informed us via calls and texts that they wouldn't be able to make it to the set.

Black Media Brands Studios' entire staff was so let down by this that we had to find someone else to fill the position. It so happened that the production manager recommended Oloyede Adebisi, and we hit it off right away.

Adebisi was available throughout the process, doing her best to use the given tools to create the visuals we were going for.

Dennis Ayokunle, the production manager for the short film , approached the entire process of filmmaking with a personal touch. He took care to oversee every aspect of the cast's schedule and budget.

Dennis has been with Black Media Brands Studios since the beginning, when we decided to film comedic content, and there was no one else we could have chosen to fill the position of production manager.

His dedication astounds us all. He consistently conveys the idea that the brand's mission is for all of us, and that means we must all be dedicated to it.

He has unwavering faith in the brand.

Olabisi Balogun designed the set and costumes for the short film .

When it comes to anything pertaining to Black Media Brands Studios, she has always been reachable and eager to assist.

Her perseverance and positive attitude were evident while working on the short film. She made sure everything was set up and ready when it was needed.
She was the best set and costume designer we could find.

While working on the short film, Edunjobi Samuel served as both the gaffer and the head of the electrical department.

Black Media Brands Studios member "Sampure," as he is also known, is a tenacious and committed individual. He was constantly helpful during the film's production, despite having to travel a great distance to be on the set.

He also recommended a couple of people to us when we were casting the role of Angel before the flming. In terms of his work, he really is extraordinary.

Di Vine is the next crew member deserving of praise. She was the production welfare who looked after the crew and cast on the set of the short film .

Divine has always been available for Black Media Brands Studios, to the point that she has been in some of our comedic content, even before the notion of producing a movie was proposed.

The stunning Divine is proof that investing in human capital will yield abundant returns.

The production location manager for the short film was Oluode Abraham.

Black Media Brands Studios has been home to AB, as he is affectionately nicknamed, even before the concept of making a movie was mooted.

He has consistently been reachable for any BMB Studios-related matter.

For this reason, my first instinct was to cast him as Herbert in the short film, but he was unable to attend the audition, therefore he was passed over for the part.

He however made sure the venues selected for the filming were in good condition despite not getting the part.

Nothing can change AB's support for you when he is on your side.

The production continuity that kept the short film production going was Emmanuel Theresa, also known as Tessy. The stunning Tessy has been a regular member of the group since we began filming skits.

Having previously collaborated with Black Media Brands Studios on our comedic skits, we were forced to cast her among those who would be auditioning for the main cast role of Angel when the time came for the short film's casting.

Despite not landing the role, her contribution to making sure is produced flawlessly cannot be overstated.

She is constantly willing to help the team and is always reachable by phone. We all adore Tessy; she is that devoted crew member.

Let me talk about one of the reasons I chose to film "Bruises Behind Closed Doors," my debut short film, today. John Chizoba Vincent is a talented writer and cinematographer.

I decided to get in touch with JCV to share my idea and potentially have him collaborate with me after coming up with the notion to put my first story—which I had written as a screenplay—to life.

Since I've known JCV for a long time, it wasn't too hard to tell him about the idea. He agreed to collaborate with me after I gave him an explanation, and ever since, he consistently provided me with the encouragement I needed to follow through.

We scheduled a time to shoot it with the cast and other crew members, but we had to change it because my Master's program exams prevented us from taking it on that day. As soon as I completed my master's exam, we convened virtually to determine the movie's budget. It was growing beyond my means; keep in mind that we had no sponsor. I had not budgeted for the exorbitant cost of hiring lights, cameras, and other equipment.

I made the decision to create the screenplay for another story at the conclusion of the conference. This time, the story would be a short film with few scenes but a significant social message.

That was the origin of the short film you all are seeing now. I called JCV and we decided on a different day to shoot it after I finished the script and realized how little shooting it would cost.

JCV was essential during shooting of the film. I was running helter-skelter to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible, so at one point I was exhausted, it was JCV and my AD that had to make sure the cast got their lines.

I have never met a camera operator as patient and resilient as JCV. For film work, please get in touch with him.

Every day, I would discuss the actors and crew of .

With .chukwuneke I shall begin. She is a journalist and voice actor whom I refer to as the "star girl." She is the one who provided the voice-over for the short film's trailer.

I spoke with a crew member about adding a voice-over to the trailer while we were editing it to see what kind of results we could get. I therefore posted on WhatsApp that I need volunteers to provide the voice-over for the trailer.

Blessing was among the several DMs I received from folks expressing interest in the work. The fact that she DM'd astonished me. I am aware that Blessing is exclusively for journalistic writing, not voice acting. I decided to try her.

Even though it was her first time doing so, lo and behold, she delivered. Get her to work on your voice-over, please. DATI confirms that she is a surefire.

Black Media Brands Studios film debut, a social-realism low budget short film titled Bruises Behind Closed Doors premieres today, March 1st.

Adigun in an exclusive with BLACK PRIDE Magazine, shared that the short film is a must watch eye-opener on what domestic violence does in different homes. “Bruises Behind Closed Doors is a film shot to raise awareness about the songs of domestic violence and I’m sure the Nigerian audience would resonate with the storyline," he expressed.

Written and directed by Adigun Temitope Idealism, Bruises Behind Closed Doors takes its audience into the life of Herbert, an abusive husband who has been secretly in with another woman throws his wife, Angel's life completely upside down.

The cast includes Grace Michael ( ), Taiwo Kayode and Iyabo Mosaku.

The official trailer which was released on February 28, 2024, shows a glimpse of the drama the audience can expect when it premieres on BMB Studios on March 1st, 2024.

In late February, this year, I created - wrote, directed, and edited my first comedy skit. Before that, I had been nursing the dream of making a movie that would talk about social ills.

So when the opportunity to create skits came, I got a bee in my bonnet about expanding my horizon thereby building enough human resources for my main dream which is to make a film.

I was heading to a crucial PR meeting when some kids approached me with a prerecorded song they made in the studio. One of them who seems more outspoken said they have been following me on social media platforms and also tried to monitor me on the street to ascertain their curiosity about how truly good I am when it comes to publicity, promotion, and talent management. I was shocked to hear that from them and not also forgetting the fact that I was getting late behind the scheduled time for the meeting. I told one of them to quickly send the song to my phone. I promised to listen to it when I'm back from the meeting. They went their separate ways, pleased. I could see the zeal to make good music in their eyes. ........................................................... I couldn't tell them I hadn't listened to the song yet, so i said, "you guys have a wonderful song but just needs adjustment in one or two places." They were happy to hear that from me. Immediately, the outspoken one said they need me to follow them to the studio and pinpoint the places that needed to be adjusted. So I gave them a date I'd be free. Immediately after I got home, I quickly played the song to fulfill all righteousness. And to my amazement, they tried but could be improved in sound and lyric.
