Today on the diamond breakfast show, we discussed the report of the investigative Panel from the ministry of interior regarding the controversy surrounding Bobrisky’s jail term, whom they said served out his six-month prison sentence in custody.
The findings of the investigative panel contradicted an earlier report that Bobrisky was kept out of the custodial centre while serving his jail term in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, where he was transferred to the Medium Custodial Centre and from the Medium Custodial Centre Kirikiri Apapa, Lagos, to the Maximum Custodial Centre Kirikiri Apapa, Lagos.
The panel, however, confirmed that the bobrisky received certain privileges during his time behind bars, including access to his phone, visits by family and friends, and designated inmates to run errands for him.
The panel also stated that there was no evidence to support the allegations that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence, which lasted from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024. And their recommendation is that there should be clear guidelines needed to guide operations regarding such incidents in future.
The Minister of Interior vowed that any officer implicated in the report would undergo the necessary disciplinary process and be punished accordingly.

Here are 8 tips for newscasters, particularly beginners, to help them excel:
1. Master Pronunciation and Articulation: Clear pronunciation and articulation are key in delivering the news.
2. Focus on Voice Control and Tone: Your voice is your most important tool on radio. Practice maintaining a clear, calm, and engaging tone. Vary your pitch and pace to keep listeners interested, and avoid sounding monotone or rushed.
3. Master Script Reading: Since radio newscasters rely heavily on scripts, it’s essential to learn how to read them naturally. Practice reading aloud to avoid sounding robotic, and familiarize yourself with tricky names, places, or terminologies in advance.
4. Keep Language Simple and Clear: Radio listeners cannot see your gestures or visuals, so clarity is critical. Use simple and straightforward language to ensure your message is easily understood.
5. Develop Strong On-Air Presence: Confidence is key. Newscasters are expected to remain composed and professional, even during high-pressure moments.
6. Learn How to Handle Technical Equipment: Familiarize yourself with the tools you'll be using, such as studio microphones, broadcast software, and mixer console.
7. Stay Prepared for Technical Hiccups: Radio broadcasts are live, and technical issues can happen. Stay calm and prepared to improvise if your script or equipment fails. Have backup notes and be ready to keep speaking confidently, even during unexpected interruptions.
8. Engage in Continuous Learning: The media landscape is rapidly changing with new technologies, including digital tools and AI. Stay updated with trends, attend workshops, and engage with other professionals in the industry to keep improving your skills and adapting to new formats.
