What is Generative AI?
Generative AI refers to a type of artificial intelligence that generates new content, such as text, images, audio, or other forms of data, that is similar to the input it was trained on.
Generative AI is like a smart tool that learns from lots of information (like books, articles, websites) to create new things, such as sentences, stories, or pictures. It works by recognizing patterns and relationships in this information.
Imagine it as a creative robot that reads and understands tons of text. When you give it a starting sentence or idea, it uses what it learned to predict what might come next. For example, if you tell it, "The cat sat on the," it might guess "mat" or "chair" because it's seen sentences like that before.
It's trained to guess what words or images should follow based on what it knows. It breaks down the words into smaller parts and learns what they mean. Then, it uses these learned patterns to generate new content that seems realistic.
This AI is adaptable too. You can teach it more about specific topics by giving it more information or adjusting its learning. It's like adding more books for the robot to read about a particular subject, making it better at creating content related to that topic.
When you see AI-generated text or images online, it's often created by this kind of AI. But remember, while it's impressive, it's not perfect. Sometimes it might make mistakes or produce content that doesn't make sense because it's doing its best based on what it's learned.
